Ryuji is actually pretty kind and caring on the inside, he just tends to keep the whole badass, cool guy sort of deal to impress his friends, after the apocalypse and with spending more time with Yuna, he has learned to be kinder and understanding. At most he is just really quiet and tends to keep to himself, however, he is really loyal to his group now and would do anything for them.

Zero grew up in an extremely prestigious household with both of his parents being high-end surgeons and his older brother being a chemical engineer, Zero was told how to act and what he was going to be when he grew up (a doctor of some sort) being thrown to the best tutors and thrown into many medical classes at a young age. Zero started to rebel against his parents and started to hang out with the wrong crowds, basically being disowned by his parents, Zero could care less on what they think about him, with his leadership qualities and silvertongue, Zero quickly earned his place as a leader of his small group of thugs, quickly getting the title of the thug prince on the way.
Zero's and Yuna's relationship: Yuna and Zero never really knew eachother before the apocalypse, they were basically two different people. She was popular, kind and smart whilst he was a loner, and a punk.

Yuna and Zero used to grow up in the same school, being in many of the same classes Yuna really didn't pay much mind to him, oftenly staying away from him due to the stigmatism against him and his group. Yuna became friends with Zero right before the apocalypse when she noticed he walked and took the same bus to get home as her. Zero and Yuna became close after the apocalypse. (more in story)

Cat

Cat is one of her friends from her group before she found out that she was going to betray them. Yuna now really only sees her as another group member no matter how hard Cat tries to mend their friendship (more in story)
