Rocco Vinceti

Is a 38 year old vampire, born in 1919,  Born to an Italian-American father, a Mafia capo, and an Irish mother who tried very hard not to let her son know what her husband did for a living. 

He was a fairly normal kid, just with the occasional weird complaint to his parents about hearing or seeing something that wasn’t there (this would later be diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenia)  Instead of dealing with him, his parents sent him away to an over-crowded asylum, where he spent most of his days not eating, writing letters to his parents, and with one friend he made on the inside, who became the catalyst for him to pretend to be “better” in hopes of getting discharged after his friend was lobotomized.  With the hospital coming under some inspections and a lot of shuffling around of patients and doctors as the Great Depression ended, he was able to slip through the cracks and be released again to his family, and never again complained about his mental illness to them for fear of going back, instead turning to alcohol and drugs to deal with his hallucinations and paranoia. 

Frustrated with his son's lack of employment, his dad eventually got him a very low level job in the crime family he belonged to, mostly as a look out, which he was pretty good at.

Eventually he slipped up, as you do, under the weight of his addictions and was offered as a sort of bartering tool to establish a professional relationship with another crime family (The Foscari Crime Family) Sent to accept the offering and seal the deal on the two families becoming partners, was you guessed it, Charlie Boucher. Who unfortunately, found something worth liking in Rocco’s desperate attempts to cling to life instead of perishing in the warehouse he was set up to die in. Charlie turned Rocco into a vampire, the first display of true kindness that Rocco felt he’d ever experienced and fell instantly in love with the man. Charlie was allowed to keep Rocco “in the family” provided he found a job for him to do, working directly under him, this ended up being prostitution as Charlie essentially ran a brothel at this time.  By the late 1970s, he was finally trusted enough a branch of the family’s drug trade, his job ever since. 

That is, until 2010, when a man working under him blew a deal in a major way, getting many of Rocco’s other men killed, leading Rocco to kill everyone else there and fake his own death, to prevent the execution he assumed would be coming to him soon courtesy of the Foscari family.

Sometime along this line, during a bad paranoid episode he did set fire to David’s home and does feel bad about it. He would actually kind of like to see the guy again, unaware that David’s entire motivation for even living is to see him dead. Rocco is a bit over-eager, careless, and oftentimes thoughtless. His goal would be to finally get away from the family, just him and Charlie, and live happily ever after.
