libby is the ringleader of her friend group, frequently dragging the girls into half-cooked plans. she's very short compared to her friends, so she compensates by having a big attitude! her favorite music to listen to is metal, which her bestie maureen can't stand. at work, libby acts like a total slacker, but somehow at the end of the day everything gets done perfectly fine...!

libby is spunky, confident, and can yell much louder than you'd expect for someone her size! she acts sugar sweet and a little sassy, but the truth is, she's much smarter than she typically lets on. her loved ones describe her as a selfless, loyal, and caring girl, but to everyone else, libby is a total social butterfly bordering on control freak...if u know what i mean!

she loves wearing 2000s accessories. hair clips, jelly bracelets, spiky ball earrings...the list goes on!! libby typically accessorizes with a color theme; pink&green, yellow&pink, pink&blue, etc! no matter what she's wearing, though, pink is usually involved somehow in the outfit! libby's nails are ALWAYS painted, and her hair is usually styled in pigtails or one big ponytail - only on rare occasions will she let it down. her hot pink flip phone might be clipped onto a belt or boot or bra strap, but it's usually stashed in one of her pigtails.

libby has an imaginary alter ego named izzy, who's a singer in a band called dethmetlgrls. izzy is blunt, effortlessly cool, and demands respect... she's the voice in the back of libby's head encouraging her to grow her confidence, set boundaries, and take control of the situation. libby sees herself as just an average singer and an average girl, but she has big dreams of becoming izzy...

libby's history: libby's design popped into my head as i was about to fall asleep one night (i think i first pictured her as a lps...), i got up to draw her and after that everything changed for me! thinking about her and her story helped me pass many a boring hour at a tedious job - in fact, i was actually working when i came up with the idea of "a little lizzy mcguire girl" who follows libby around and messes with her life. during this time i was really working through themes of self-compassion, being genuine, stuff like that, so libby's struggle with those topics mirrored and mingled with my own. i went through a burning phase of hyperfixation with her for a while, single-mindedly focused on making her Real; writing music about her, decorating a webkinz plushy and virtual pet to resemble her, sculpting a doll of her with clay and wire and magnets, and sketching many many more ideas for future Realization. even though this obsession with her has tempered for now, she remains beloved to me and as real a character to me as the others that surround me on my desk - she sits with my sonic figures, some ponies, and the bratz who i get to hang out with every day ^__^
