About

Personality

Abraxas is, for the most part, quiet, calm, and hyper intelligent. He observes all things around him, and usually will know what someone is thinking without even needing to read their mind. He dislikes showing any weakness to most others and will hold a neutral expression when dealing with them. In most situations he is slow to anger, but when anger does take hold, he may lose part of his rationality, becoming cruel or even violent. If this occurs, he will feel great guilt afterwards, for it reminds him too much of himself in the past, someone he never wishes to become again.

Abilities

Being the most powerful demon alive, Abraxas has quite a number of abilities, including but not limited to conjuration, electric manipulation, thermokinesis, pyrokinesis, vortex creation, energy manipulation, teleportation, apportation, molelcular immobilization, barrier creation, telekinesis, invisibility, astral projection, suggestion, levitation, shapeshifting, enhanced speed and strength, and sleep induction. Along with these, he also holds the supremely rare ability of being able to stop his soul from moving on after death, instead returning back and taking over another demon vessel powerful enough to contain him.

Backstory

Abraxas' past is largely unknown. What is known is that he is old enough to have watched the birth of 'the universe' as he survived the Barren Plague that came afterwards. Another thing known is that he took on the rank of Devil at that time after the previous Devil died off, being the strongest demon left alive. Even after demons began to rebuild, he gathered more and more power, defeating any demons attempting to challenge his rank.

A lot is shrouded in mystery during the time of the Plague and the discovery of humans. At some point he and the leader of the angels, Solaris, had gotten into a reality warping battle over this new species, with Abraxas blaming them for the Plague and wanting to eradicate them while Solaris defended them, saying it wasn't their fault. It isn't known how long the battle lasted, but eventually both demons and angels stood up as the Boundary of their very dimensions were crumbling from the immense power the two were expelling. Being brought to reason got them both to reluctantly call a truce in favour of not killing more of their own, accidentally or otherwise. A rift had developed further between the two leaders, each barely keeping in contact for some time.

Barely a few months passed before that rift tore completely: the day Solaris attacked him without warning or reason, permanently tearing his wings from his body. In unimaginable pain, betrayal, and shock, he launched into the Overworld and attacked him. Hundreds died in moments, leading into a full scale war that lasted for many years. With every day he grew more cold and rageful, a state which never fully left him even after the fighting was brought to an end by the threat of dimensional instability once more. With further years needed to recover and rebuild again, the two dimensions were truly cut from one another, seemingly permanently. Many, many years pass, and new generations of angels and demons grew to hate one another as well.

Many things happen, much research is done, and eventually Abraxas comes to lose his hatred for humans, especially after finding out how weak and slightly pathetic they are. Something changed however when a new power is born into the human world; a tiny little human with the ability to cheat death, as he can. He had thought it impossible that such a weak creature could hold that power, and grew intrigued, watching over her as she grew up without knowing of this. As the years continued to go by he saw her grow, gain more power with her second ability, electric manipulation, and decided he wanted to see how her soul would return after death. He sent low-level demons after her as tests, wave after wave to see how she handled it; when they failed, he sent mid-level demons. It was sudden when he felt the power shift and knew she had been killed, going over to confirm. With that slightly annoying research subject out of the way, he awaits her eventual return.

Over 200 years pass; one day, while going about his day as usual, he received word from a subordinate that an interesting group of humans had found out about demons and were quite adept at killing them...and that one of them was living in a void of her own, electricity wielding; a split soul to another. Knowing instantly that this was the one he had ordered killed, returned after all this time, he sends out a final challenge to this group; a high price was to be put on their heads for demonic bounty hunters to try their luck. If they survived a month, he would meet with them and grant a single wish each, along with forbidding further demons from hunting them again. It was time to deal with the pesky but interesting human, one way or another...

Relations

Waité

From finding her as an annoyance to suddenly deciding to marry her for the chance of creating offspring with Unique abilities too, his entire outlook changed dramatically over the time since then. It had been strange, but somehow Waité ended up being someone capable of worming into his heart, to the point where he could no longer deny her importance to him. He had thought that impossible, escpecially from just a human, but here he was, loving one. He expresses himself slightly more around her, even showing affection, although no one else would ever see this.

Solaris

As his last living friend after the Plague, Solaris had been an important person to Abraxas for the longest time. This was shattered however with the angel’s betrayal for starting war, destroying Abraxas’ ability to trust anyone again for millennia to come. He feels fury and hatred towards Solaris now, coming close to attacking him multiple times.

Barbas

Being one of his more trusted upper levels, a healthy dose of respect goes both ways for them. He will rely on Barbas for a large variety of things, particularly ambassador-like work with the angels, or watching over that particular group of humans to keep them out of trouble for Waité's sake.

Lihnaljin

He had suggested they kill Lihnaljin when they were weak, not wanting to risk any unstable destruction again. With Waité pleading against it and Adam being able to somewhat control the being, Abraxas is more neutral towards them now, even if he is always ready to kill them if they go out of control.
