police detective, has gone through a lot of the subdivisions but ends up in homicide... lowkey he wants to stay in mafia affairs.
workaholic and wouldn't have it any other way... or he thinks? he's been doing this for so long that it doesn't matter anymore, he just does it.

his family was an established italian-american ~wholesome law enforcement "cornerstone of the neighborhood" type (nosy as fuck, involved in everything, and using their 'power' to stay afloat and relevant)... and Ben knew he'd be a cop from when he was a kid and enjoyed the prospect of upholding whatever honor his family told him they could bestow. his family started to see less of him/think so highly of him when he married his ex wife though, since she wasn't italian at all; he didn't mind being cut off from major communication from them though! it was just a shame for the kids to not grow up with one pair of grandparents but little did he know he'd end up getting separated from his fams anyway LOL

doesn't get much sleep... at all. and drinky drinky (super high functioning alcoholic)
he is the big reason why Node has been kept at perpetual desk duty, AND of course he is super suspicious of Node (especially bc of his family background!)-- doesn't trust him at ALL

he's an ASS but he doesn't like showing it. (as in, he's constantly wanting to say something under his breath but he waits 'till he's completely alone hah)
so yeah he's very undermining. very secretive. it's not often that someone knows what he's really thinking

has two kids. they're at that age where they're on their own but it's not like he was super present in their lives anyway. he's been divorced to his wife since the kids were young-- his wife had full custody as his hours have been sporadic and too long since the dawn of time hsdggjfg

he REALLLLLY hates his name, so he's resigned to having 'bennett' shortened to 'ben' in lieu of an actual nickname... he used to be called 'tommy' when he was a kid and it drove him nuts. (also... his middle name is Holden.)

he has no idea how to dress himself and is a hot mess when not wearing his uniform lmao.
