Oren and Alorak are guardian siblings, only in recent times becoming closer. Alorak was born first, and Oren was born a few years later, leading to them not having much contact. Alorak was always very cold and fierce, not shying away from insulting decisions he found stupid, and was even placed as a scrapper at one point because of his insubordination. Oren, on the other hand, was a very calm and determined charr. She followed orders to the best of her ability, and highly valued her bonds with her warband. The two were very, very different.
Oren lost her warband in a battle against a horde of spirits; she became determined afterward to become stronger, training as a dragonhunter and promising herself she would prevent the loss of her new warband. They simply couldn't cut them down fast enough, and were bombarded hard by their mages and archers, wearing them down and leading to the deaths of many of them. As the only survivor, she was at first bitter, massacring ghosts en masse, but doing so made her feel hollow. No matter how many she killed, she did not feel any better. So she left the Citadel, seeking to form a new warband elsewhere, and to reignite the bonds she once had.
Alorak had little good will with his bandmates, but they worked well together. He and they went to investigate the abandoned cavern around the Black Citadel grounds, finding flame legion and their conspirators inside. He fought fiercely as their bruiser, and so did his bandmates, but they were seared terribly. He was only protected by his aegis from their burning flames, and he later held his bandmates in his arms as they passed from their burns. Despite them not getting along, he never entirely got over their deaths, constantly beating himself up over not being able to save them and their deaths always nagging at his mind. He went in the opposite direction as Oren, instead studying the tomes of Elona in order to save and support his allies so they would not fall again, and so he could turn his purifying flames against the flame legion.
Oren had written him a letter inquiring on his status, since they had never truly been in contact prior. Alorak wrote back, and both discovered their warbands were lost. When she invited him to join a new warband, Alorak immediately accepted, seeking to overcome his loss by doing good like his sister. The two grew close since then; with Oren been the calm and collected head of the group, and Alorak being the irritable, grumpy support, that does good despite his cold outer shell. Both siblings have soft spots for the gladiums of the world, and will sometimes visit the gladium canton to listen to their stories. Alorak tends to deny any positivity people throw at him, however; hurts his angry image, he feels. They dubbed their warband the Flame warband, with Oren as Oren Paleflame and Alorak as Alorak Stormflame.
