Greatest Strength
Olive is often seen trying to learn magic tricks from her grandfather, fairly good herself. Her love of traveling and learning from those around her make her easy to socialize and not fear being alone.
Greatest Weakness
She's best known as a kid with her head in the clouds, always fantasizing and having good thoughts rather than bad ones, but it still distracts her from conversations. Apparently both her parents were the same. Crabs scare her.
Whistling
A skill her father taught her so she can call her pigeons or whistle sea shanties with him. She's very good!
People watching
She likes to stare and observe others, picking up on mannerisms fast. Her parents often ask where she picks up new habits they didn't teach her, but the source is always a stranger's unique way of living.
Reading
She'll read books on magic tricks, of optical illusions, and especially iSpy books, her current favorites. Her second favorite are stereogram books, which make her cross her eyes and look funny.
Positive Traits
She's very observant, typical of a child, but what she focuses on aren't just shiny things or toys, preferring to study the landscapes and customs of others. She likes to learn and ask questions, her eagerness making those older than her enjoy having her around.
Neutral Traits
It's a good and bad trait, but Olive can be unconsciously nosy. She doesn't really think about privacy and likes to look through her family's belongings to dress up or listen to conversations behind the door. Everyone knows and works around her anyway.
Negative Traits
Her clinginess might be something needs work, a quiet kid who still tries to stay by her family whenever she can. She doesn't like to sleep alone or eat by herself, so her two pigeons were gifted in hopes that she could learn some independancy along with still having someone dear by her at her calling.
Others' Perception
Loved Ones
Her parents can easily see their younger traits on her, it's nostalgic, but she's amusing in her own right that it surprises them too.
Strangers
Many look past her and stare at the backpack she carries her pigeons in, surprised that they can be pets in the first place rather than a parrot.
Enemies
She's never had to use the skill, but her birds could attack someone if she yells, probably. Doesn't have enemies so far though.
As an infant, Olive was described as a peaceful and excitable bundle when she wasn't by herself, or while she didn't have object permanence of others in the same room. She grew up a bit sheltered in a large home within Tuscany, having to really squint her eyes to see a neighbor's home past fields of grass and cypress trees. The intent was to live somewhere safe given the experiences of her family, especially with two detectives as parents.
Sometimes her parents would leave home for days, weeks, and so on, but she's glad she can say she has countless memories of them to consider them involved enough and doting. If they weren't by her side, she still had her grandparents and uncle, always an adult to inspire and entertain her. Even so, being home most of the time, she undoubtedly wanted to venture out more. Taken into town, to festivals and holiday celebrations, it enlightened her to share the experiences with her family, but she was certain there was more beyond their radius.
Being on enough train rides with her parents, Olive had a good grasp on how to travel on her own, not that she had permission just yet. Her family still put the effort in to take her to further countries around Europe, far from Italy at times, enough material for her to learn about other cultures. Maybe, in the end, the food from Italy remains her favorite.
As she continued to grow up, her parents felt some guilt in not being able to hang out with her sometimes, so one year they came back with two pigeons for her. Training them wasn't an issue as they were originally cared for by her father's family in Spain, and they latched onto her quickly given all the time they would spend together. She didn't get to name them as they were used to Settimo and Quinto, but that wasn't an issue.
Her family assumed that having two pigeons may cause her to stay home more to care for them, but the opposite occured where her wishes to go out more were propelled by her new wish to travel with her birds. She still felt a need to see the world, and to show it to her birds as well, and no one negated that. As she continues to grow up and occasionally venture out more, Olive always has two companions with her now.
∙ Wears duck feet slippers at home all the time, somehow her feet are always cold.
∙ Will always try to eat food in a bowl or with a spoon, even when its really not mecessary...
∙ Scared of the vacuum, she was fending off a roomba once when she was much younger but never forgot it.
∙ She doesn't like birthdays toooo much because its overwhelming being the center of attention, and frankly she has some stage fright.
∙ She's pretty good at jigsaw puzzles and can do up to 500 pc puzzles on her own.
