Ramsey is the reincarnation of an old god known as Astra. It is unknown if the two of them are a singular entity or if Ramsey is more like a vessel or host to Astra's soul, but the effect is the same--he's a being of immense power.
Ramsey himself is rather chaotic. He can be volatile, and lashes out at others with little to no provocation. That said, once he has formed an attachment to someone, he is loyal to a fault, which feeds into other self destructive tendencies he already has.

3021; The Beginning
Astra was among a set of 3 gods who were born alongside the universe itself. His brothers were known as Athanasius and Kamiel, though both have taken on different names since then. Astra was the God of all life, and when a strange rift in the universe led to a slow, growing corruption of the world as we know it, he gave his life to close it. This wasn't enough to cleanse the world of the rot that had already seeped into it, however. A zombie-like plague swept across Earth in the year 3021, slowly turning the infected into unrecognizable monstrosities. This catasrophic event later became known as the Rapture, due to its similarities to the biblical event.
Decades later, after most civilizations had fallen, a young boy was born to Iris Mattheson--a woman in a cult which worshiped the Rapture, believing that the creatures and infection which had seeped into their world were the rebirth of once fallen angels. Her child, Ramsey, was born incredibly ill, and in a misguided effort to save him, the boy was deliberately infected with the plague which had crushed human civilization. It is unknown what occurred after this, as the cult organization vanishes from contemporary records for several years.
Approximately 11 years after the initial records detailing the cult involvement with Ramsey, he resurfaced in Montclair, a city-state on the west coast which had fallen to anarchy during the Rapture, but was clinging to life nonetheless. It was, at the time, controlled by several warring factions of survivors, one of which was led by the Blackwood family. The patriarch of the family, Talbot Blackwood, had been Iris Mattheson's husband prior to her disappearance in the year 3134. Ramsey was known mostly by reputation at that point, but word of a seemingly unkillable mercenary traveled fast through Montclair.
Talbot approached Ramsey with intentions of recruiting him, but seeing the resemblance between Ramsey and his son, Blanche, he began to look further into the boy's past. Ramsey, seeking a sense of belonging, naturally gravitated towards the Blackwoods during this time. By 3148, Ramsey was a well established enforcer for the Blackwoods, and would later become the leader of the faction.
3150; Of ichor
As Ramsey grew into an adult, it became clear that there was more to him than met the eye. The god Astra began to make his presence known to his vessel, and Ramsey's appearance grew much stranger, appearing much like those in early stages of infection. But instead of withering away into a senseless monster, he grew tall and strong, and embraced the newfound power within himself. Montclair is now united under one leader, going from anarchy to something akin to a monarchy, though some might call it a theocracy, given Ramsey's divine nature. As word spread of Astra's rebirth as Ramsey Blackwood, it drew the attention of Astra's siblings, who had since retreated to Earth in human forms to heal themselves after aiding their brother in closing the rift which led to the Rapture.
Brother
Athanasius (Alistair) was born alongside Astra. He was the secondborn, and where Astra was Life itself, Alistair is the guardian of Death. Though Ramsey has no memory of his original brothers, Alistair certainly remembers him, and quietly watches over him from afar.
Brother
Kamiel (Kimiya), like Athanasius, was a god born alongside Astra. He was the youngest of the original 3 gods, and doesn't recall Astra terribly well, though he is aware that Ramsey is the reborn form of his brother. Kimiya, like Athanasius, has chosen to keep his distance from Ramsey, though his intentions are less pure. He intends to kill his older brother's new vessel if given the chance, believing Ramsey to be unfit to wield Astra's power.
Lover?
Draco and Ramsey have a somewhat complex relationship. Draco was once a priest who served under Astra, and blames him for his Fall into demonhood. Though Draco is fully aware that Ramsey has no memories of his past life, he isn't always able to remain objective, and holds some resentment for the young God nonetheless. They are, however, attracted to one another, and have an on-again-off-again relationship.
