About

Past

Originally born in California, Tzu would spend a memorable part of her younger years constantly moving between the southern western states of the US. This was due to her father’s job, who previously worked as a realtor for casino’s started to claim his own as he climbed the industry. His casinos specifically in Nevada and coastline of California were what allowed him and his family to live more lavishly. Overtime Tzu, her older sisters and her parents resided in California, but it was a hard time for her to adjust to a more stable lifestyle. Although Tzu’s family is considerably rich, her mother wanted to make a great effort to hide their wealth status so that it wouldn’t make her kids spoiled. Tzu’s father on the other hand was more concerned with sharing his success with his daughters, even as far as teaching them casino table games so they would be able to gamble and use tricks on others. Tzu however, struggled to relate to her peers, moreso because she started to believe that she could move away at any moment. She nevertheless still wanted to be more involved, so occasionally she would help out people with homework problems or just give advice during her middle school years. This only rounded her more acquaintances than friends, and when out of options, she would go to her own father for advice.

Tzu’s relationship with her mother was complicated, she didn’t outright hate her yet her mother would constantly lambast her for not being like her older sisters. Specifically when it came to their customs, it made Tzu feel like she was more american than chinese, so she naturally gravitated more to her father, whom was raised in America unlike her mother. His suggestion was to try out the table games he taught her and gave her a deck of cards to share. Luckily, Tzu was easily accepted by her middle school peers. She taught them how to play in simple terms and was notably popular during breaks and recess. The card games as well did not raise any concerns with the school faculty since they weren’t gambling for anything. This was until one of Tzu’s close friends at the time, Rico raised the possibility at the time. Tzu agreed believing it would spark more activity with the children, and the two started what looked to be an “underground” gambling ring. Rico himself became fairly close with Tzu ever since she taught everyone how to play casino games, practically being glued to her company if the two were close by. Although the two both acknowledged each other as just friends, Tzu did develop a small unrequited crush on Rico because of that friendship, and while they both had no interest in being with each other, her feelings are why she went with his plans. At first they convinced everyone to just gamble candy, then it grew to lunches, money and even accessories. It grew beyond Tzu’s own interest and Rico got into a fight because the kid she gambled with tried to attack her. The gambling ring became too much to hide from the school and eventually once teachers found out, nobody was hesitant to point the fault at Rico and Tzu. Yet somehow Tzu went off with a warning while Rico was suspended, possibly because of either Tzu’s family or Rico’s previous fights. Regardless Tzu was now worse off than when she started, looked at as an outcast by her peers to avoid the same punishment as Rico and even further chastised by her mother. Tzu felt defeated during the rest of her middle school years, unable to make amends with anyone let alone Rico, she rarely ever talked because only teachers would answer back to her. Unfortunately to make things worse, Her father decided to retire In new york after a casino was constructed there per his request, removing Tzu any chance to even graduate or see her middle school peers again.

Highschool

Tzu’s highschool days were more of melancholy, She became reserved as she was too afraid to make any connections with the people there. Her family life became a lot quieter as by now her older two sisters moved out and her parents decided to have her younger brother to deal with. Tzu was left to her own thoughts as she looked onto her new peers with envy. She never had a problem with classwork or homework so Tzu was left to overhear drama and news from other people during her breaks. Her school life remained so stag

It wasn’t until her second year did she even have much contact with another student, and her name was Kaylia. It was for a 2 man group project, and kaylia found herself referring more to Tzu since she was confused about it. Tzu first found her annoying yet compiled since they were required to work together, yet even afterwards, Tzu felt almost bewildered when kaylia would try to continue conversing with her. Tzu spent her first school year feeling isolated from her peers, yet even with only talking when it was to answer a question, Kaylia still stuck around her. It was almost as if she needed to have Tzu’s company, but Tzu herself didn’t know what to really do about it. It wasn’t until Tzu started to receive harassment and pestering from people interested in Kaylia that she would open up about what happened with her previous “friends''. Kaylia would tell of how they tried using and controlling her life and how she just wants to separate herself from them. After this shared moment the two started feeling more comfortable around each other, though while the harassment Tzu was getting towards her was growing past annoyance, she didn’t want Kaylia to know about the troubles lest she decide to distance from Tzu. Selfishly, Tzu also yearned for a proper companionship, and didn’t want to risk anything with Kaylia. The two grew more as they moved past their 2nd year, and Kaylia decided upon changing her attitudes back to normal and make new friends again. It was at a point where both had to acknowledge that they shouldn’t be afraid to reach out there anymore, so although she did not express it openly, Tzu wanted to open herself up again. With someone like Luna being the new introduction, it took a lot more than Tzu expected to get used to her antics. She was a reserved yet exaggerated character, and while it took a long while for Luna to get used to the two, Tzu took longer for her. Still, the three became their own gang for the rest of their high school years, and it took their support in each other to rebuild that trust issue each held within them.

Present

Once the gang were ready to move on towards college, they found a campus that was able to accommodate each of their interests. Tzu now does her best to mature and learn from others, with her interests pointing towards being a therapist or something in the psychology field. She depended a lot on kaylia’s support at first when she felt by herself during highschool, so Tzu gained some interest in wanting to help people like how kaylia did to her. It was at least a safer option than taking over her father’s gambling business. For now in the present, Tzu would remain as the voice of reason to the gang, and though she may not show it, Tzu relies on their support to keep her company.

"Luna is a weird case, I don't really get her or her interests but I can say she is not boring atleast. Almost like a cartoon character with how exaggerated she can be with her emotions, but strangely she's as reserved as when we first met other people. I guess because she's more familiar with us, i'd get whiplash seeing her act quiet. Atleast she's good at games, our desputes will always be fun."

"Kaylia's been by my side for the longest, and it almost feels out of character to rely on her so emotionally. I don't see how someone like her can be so extroverted and social all the time, but I can see how she's so popular. well, aside from her assets, she just brightens up everything she's involved in. It feels almost weird, but I want her to rely on me as I would her, I give Kaylia advice at times but whenever she's upset she tries to deal with it herself instead. Maybe it's weird to want to act like this towards your friend, but it'd be better if we were more than friends. If she felt the same, I really wouldn't know..."

"Cassie severely lacks confidence and it honestly is pitiful to see her struggle living here. She is the only person of our group to not be American and it gets her in trouble alot. I honestly do not have a good first impression of her either, since I am not into anime or whatever k-dramas are. She is an odd case, but atleast she means well. I'm not sure what has or made her be so timid all the time, maybe we'd be alot closer if she opened up but I can't force her too. I just hope things are alright with her atleast."
