Alba

An owlish little man, Alba is harmless at first glance, and prefers to keep it that way. Clever but earnest looking, they try to stay on most everyone's good side, and are able to shift their behavior and attitude to fit whatever works best in a social situation. All of this though, works to disguise their criminal nature. Always pragmatic and sly, their ability to blend in with the crowd and look benign is a carefully cultivated ability to ensure no one suspects them of anything or that any attention is drawn to them. Alba isn't unkind though, and they are a reliable friend and ally who can be counted on to help, if not always stick around. With that noted, they aren't above throwing someone to the dogs in order to avoid trouble, and their constant changing for other people means they don't stand up for themselves often and are avoidant when it comes to conflict. They prefer to do their job quietly and cleanly, without making a fuss or putting anyone in danger, and while not resistant to making friends, tend to keep people at arm's length, thinking it'll keep that person safe and keep life easier for themself. 

Backstory: Super super super needs revamping, basically they used to be a thief/smuggler who stole like, art and important documents and intercepted letters and nonsense like that, and they got caught up at the wrong time and despite pretty much just being the messenger got attacked and lost their vision in the process. Thanks to some string-pulling by their friend and sometimes-roommate, they were able to get a magic bandana that helps them see when worn. With the money they earned, they were able to afford to open a shabby used bookstore, something that had already been his dream anyway. And if a painting or two goes missing... who's going to look at the local blind bookseller?

Appearance Description: 

Alba is short, standing at roughly 5ft 5in, with medium length, shaggy ginger hair flecked with black, brown, and white that reaches down past their ears to their jaw at its longest point, at the back of the head. They wear a large brimmed red wizard's hat, with faded yellow stars and a few owl feathers, including those from a screech owl, barn owl, and snowy owl. For the rest of their clothes, they wear a big, multi-colored poncho with tassels. The inside is white wool, while the outside is cream, orange, red, maroon, and brown wool in zig-zag patterns stretching across it horizontally. Underneath that is a light orange tunic tied at the waist, and pants leading to brown boots. Their blindfold is a dull maroon color, and has three spectral eyes on it, with one in the center and two on either side. These eyes can move independently of each other, and can be focused on different things at the same time, as its original purpose was a language and magic decoder/translator. Before the need for a blindfold, Alba's eyes used to be brown, with flecks of orange and gold.
