MATTHEW COVEY
Matthew isn't strong by any means, in fact, he's the physically weakest of his team members, but that doesn't stop him from confronting situations where he has to be brave, even if he has to improvise. He can be a bit cowardice at times, but his fight or flight response ultimately pushes him to fight. He is a huge worry wart and cares for his friends and family deeply. He is dutiful and loyal, and is the type you can lean on if you need his help.
He is a realist, so this entails that he can be quite pessimistic, so his advice may or may not be good. He can be awkward, especially when trying to be flirtatious, which he is horrible at. Matthew also despises being called cute that he becomes defensive over it. He is a social introvert and enjoys spending his days indoors, although doesn't mind camping and hiking. And he loves socializing with others, though he is nuetral when it comes to meeting new people.
Matthew is collectively calm and grumpy most of the time, and is that person in the friend group to bring everyone back down to Earth. He doesn't encourage his friends' weird fantasizing and even playfully bickers with them. He is can be stingy and prefers saving his money and living a simple life.
Character
- A big part of his job on the Special Unit has to do with technology, so he's a big computer whiz. So if any of his friends of family are ever having trouble with their phone or pc, he's the right person to call for the job and fix your dilemma.
- Matthew despises being called cute. There's just something about that specific word that breaks his imaginary image about looking like some tough guy you don't want to mess with.
- He doesn't like to drink alcoholic beverages, so he usually orders a Shirley temple or Apple cider when he goes out to the bar with Britney and Conner.
- He is a worry wart and will often worry about the safety of his friends even though they're obviously safe; who could blame him though, this crime fighter of justice just wants everyone to be safe.
- Matthew is an outdoors kind of guy, and loves to hike whenever he gets the chance. He often does this as well, when he wants to let out some pent up stress and anger; he'll just keep running and running.
- He would never actually admit it, but he pretty much knows that what he's saying is "cringe worthy"; it doesn't break his self-image because he knows it's true, but will pretend to act offended with an angry expression.
Summary
Official Role
Juggling the internal thoughts of feeling like a nepobaby and a coward, Matthew Covey became an integral part of a special unit for the Sirilean Police Department, where he was placed as the computer techie to help configure information regarding the wanted. Due to his mother being the chief of police, Matthew has an internal conflict about being in a position of nepotism, and has to figure out whether this is true or if he was genuinely accepted due to his skills. He considers himself a major tech whiz, but he also doubts himself on his abilities more often than not despite trying to mask it with an overly confident exterior.
Aside from his job struggles, he lives in a nuetral way without much excitement, besides the occasional catastrohpe of his friend's hyper personalities. He wants to live a fullfilled life and age peacefully.

She finds him to be funny, although it's usually when Matthew isn't at all purposefully trying to be humorous. Autumn enjoys laying back and seeing where his awkward flirting goes, even when it's another woman. She actually gives him some small advice on how he can catch the eyes of pretty ladies, but seeing as how Autumn is bad when it comes to romantic relationships, they might as well fail both. It is one of the biggest things they have in common, which they both sometimes sulk about with each other. Autumn finds Matthew to be a nice guy in general and someone who knows when to take responsibility. She gives him support for looking handsome, but, most of the time, she may end up slipping up that he is cute (which he hates being called). When he is boasting about himself, Autumn can't help but ask to show her his dating history and vice versa. Then they sulk again at their own issues. At first, Autumn is quite surprised when it comes down to his pessimistic behavior since she isn't used to being around a realist. Even so, she tries to correct him positively, so they can both at least try to lift the atmosphere into a good one. |
