Sad Acorn Squash Twin

one of the cricket queen’s attendants, alongside her brother. while tasked with entertaining the queen, the sad twin appears to be the closest to the queen. by all means, the two are technically equal in rank, but she is by far her most intimate confidant. the sad twin has a poetic sort of melancholy around her, one that draws others in to be vulnerable around her. it is both a blessing and a curse — truly a special ability to have, but she also isn’t always particularly in the mood to deal with others’ problems. with her queen, though, she has no qualms.

the complete opposite of her brother. she’s much more occupied with the problems of life, weaving grand tales around woes, either others’ or her own. she speaks in much more flowery prose, caring much more for her message than any form of appeal. in fact, she simply doesn’t see the point of ‘appeal’. why sugarcoat anything, in the first place? place beauty in something so deeply ugly? but do not mistake her pessimism for a deeper understanding of the world; while she may seem a realist, she’s rather delirious in her beliefs, founding them off of fears rather than observable truths.
