One drop of light

A being with a head and tail of light, and a body of sheer darkness. It lives by the shores, attempting to guide people to safety with its light, but its light has attracted an entire pack of malicious spirits from within the depths of the ocean. Fortunately, it cannot be affected nor possessed by these spirits. Unfortunately, it is also deeply terrified of these spirits. It has a kind, if not timid heart despite this, even if its parasitic hosts slowly devour the light it is made of.
