A trinket from a happier time. This is what he wore around his neck when he started sailing, but stopped after his violent breakup with Ervig.
Given to him by his ex. Despite the bad experiences with him, he still keeps it on him. The thought of fully letting go of his first love hurts too much.
Rather impulsive and blissfully unaware most of my surroundings most of the time. I usually don't think before acting, and usually I am okay with the outcome.
Stealing is okay if they have something you really want, as long as you're not stealing from a child or someone who can easily be taken advantage of.
People either love me or hate me, though I might take some time to warm up to you if you're a high elf, as I do not trust them as much.
I don't fully trust high elves. I am also kind of greedy and recklessly impulsive, while also struggling with not only kleptomania but also terrible memory related to my long-lasting trauma.
Faelar never knew his parents, as they gave him away to a high elf, Tarnell Heiven, in order to pay off their debt. This resulted in Faelar growing up as a child servant, and left a serious scar on his psyche.
When Faelar was 6 years old, he decided to steal a loaf of bread from the mansion's kitchen for himself. Unfortunately, what he didn't know, is that Heiven saw him as he did that. This lead to Faelar's ears being torn, as Heiven stated that "if you're going to act like a human, you may as well look like one".
Faelar escaped Heiven's manor at the age of 12, the moment he got an opportunity. He didn't stop running until he reached the nearby port, where he was hiding from Heiven's swordsmen for a while.
Later on, Faelar snuck into a boat, which is how he started sailing in the first place. He sailed from the age of 12 all the way until he was 18. He doesn't remember much other than good things related to these years, but this was the first time in his life he felt truly free. During these travels he would also make friends with one of the other sailors, Atem.
At age of 18 Faelar and Atem ended up in the city of Młotrock, where Faelar fell in love with a half-elf man. This was the first time the innocent and naive Faelar ever felt love in his life.
Faelar's lover, Edrick, seemed like the best person in the world to the naive Faelar. Unfortunately, this man kept constantly manipulating him, leading him down the path he is on today. Faelar's friends tried to tell him that this man is bad news and were clearly worried for him, but Faelar didn't listen. He was just happy about being in love.
Their relationship came to a halt when Faelar found out that Edrick was a cheating bastard, which lead Faelar to smashing a bottle over his head. This resulted in a fight between the two, leaving Faelar with a scar on his face.
Faelar stayed in Młotrock for a while longer after that. He had lost all his innocence (and his virginity) when with Edrick, and now ended up making a living by being a sex worker in the city. He left the city after a few months, to start traveling again. He once again did the usual - climbing on boats, sailing around, and so on. However, it was different this time. Faelar wasn't the one they picked on easily anymore.
After all of that, Faelar ended up in Stanta for the local festival, hoping he could pickpocket any of the other visitors... Little did he know, that this festival would be the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
Heiven cast a curse on the young Faelar just to make things worse for the half-elf. Whenever Faelar tried to read, the letters seemed like non-existent symbols that were shaking around on the page.
Later on, again visiting Młotrock during an invasion, he met his son again, but this time with Martin being in his early 20s. This puzzles Faelar a lot, as his son went from a sweet boy to a cold adult. Where did he go wrong?
Regardless of everything that's happened, Faelar can't wait to one day raise the kid in the future. He's going to try to better himself until then, just to make sure the kid has the childhood he never got to have.
