About
Selvage is exceptionally intelligent and clever when it comes to putting things together, but he's unfortunately quite rude and not very charismatic. He's very critical of the things that are found by the other tribes and judges the members of those tribes based on the quality of their findings. He complains a lot about low-quality items and is very reluctant to give praise, even when he does find something amazing. Selvage has a wonderful work ethic and will push himself to come up with better creations all the time. His primary talent lies in clothing construction and sewing details that he expects won't even be noticed by the untrained eye. He tinkers a lot in other areas, often collaborating with other members of the creator tribe to come up with new ideas.
Although Selvage doesn't care too much about queens or the hierarchy in general, he won't abandon a normal Jinnu in need of protection, and he will obey most direction given by queens (except that comes with a lot of complaining, questioning, arguing, etc). He is an aggressive fighter who is not above cheap tricks and tactics; anything is fair to him as long as he can secure a win in combat. He won't be the one to start a fight, but he will be the one to finish it.
He is sometimes accompanied by Dart, his bee hummingbird familiar. Dart spends a lot of time hunting for specific items that Selvage needs for his creations; most of the time, it's things that he's not yet aware of needing, but Dart is very good at predicting them. Other than item collecting, Selvage uses his familiar to help transport large items or finished goods to the other tribes, or as an extra helping hand when he's working on something that requires additional attention. Dart is not powerful enough to act as a mount and he generally will accept no directions or orders from Jinnu other than Selvage (but he will accept any offers of nectar unless Selvage is particularly hostile to the Jinnu who offers it).

Backstory

Special Notes
Selvage was created and approved as a guard in the creator tribe before the introduction of the designer tribe. Because of that, some of his talents are grandfathered in and he has some skills that otherwise would not be options for a member of his tribe; this specifically applies to sewing, detail work, and his general aesthetics in his work. Selvage is considered a rarity because of how odd it is for any Jinnu to have skills that lie outside of their origin tribe.
Although Dart is able to locate specific items that Selvage needs for his projects, it takes him a great deal of time to find things, and he is only able to provide one thing at a time. Selvage does rely on him from time to time, but the main source of his materials always comes from the foraging tribes or individuals with whom he can trade.
