Personality

Quite easygoing, passionate about their work, and has a vocal taste for fine wines and cheeses from their home of Toussaint.

Appearance

In human form, Lou looks like they do in any other human AU version of them. They wear simple but fashionable and well-kept clothing, usually in earth tones and green. They wear a good deal of jewelry, but a lot of it remains hidden under their clothes.

Their true form resembles a giant flightless bat, with a dense curly mane and assorted jewelry (but never silver). Lou's nose flare is small for their species. They're not physically massive compared to a human, and on the small side for a katakan, but they make up for it with monstrous strength and speed typical of their kind.

Lou is capable of a variety of transitional forms halfway between human and bat, and in fact these are more comfortable than maintaining human form at all times.

Story

Lou fled their home of Toussaint after killing another vampire, one of the greatest crimes a vampire is capable of. They'd likely face death upon re-entering the kingdom's borders without protection or leave from an elder, so instead they've chosen the life of exile. Lou spent the next several years living as a fine tailor in various towns, keeping their head down and feeding only occasionally. For the most part, they ran a completely legitimate business, only sometimes supplementing their income with stolen treasure irresistible to any katakan.

Despite their best efforts to avoid the attention of a Witcher, Lou eventually crosses paths with a cursed runaway noble and a half-giant bard, who immediately blow their cover. Forced to leave town and bored as it is, Lou sticks with these two for the rest of their adventure and ultimately grows very fond of both. They might even make peace with the Witcher on their trail.

Trivia

• Lou's coin purse never contains silver coins. If they receive some as change, they get rid of them as quickly as possible.
