Profile
Taken from her home and raised to be a dangerous government superweapon, Vivian Vypre (or, as she’s known in top secret records, United States Government Asset #J667) has been the bane of her foes and victims for years, using her colorful, hypnotic gaze to bend the wills of those around her. Formerly content to perform her assignments and proudly represent the Asset Program—it’s all she can remember, after all—a fateful, painful encounter with the supervillains she’d be assigned to track down has sent her life into a tailspin and her future on a different track entirely. A fugitive and runaway now, Vivian strives to make up for her past, all the while learning how to well and truly be, how to exist not as someone else’s tool, but as a person. Her own person.
Appearance
Though she may look dainty and petite, Vivian is a force to be reckoned with! She’s short, but well toned from her time in Asset Training, and she works hard to keep her body in shape. Her most defining features are her government-tampered hypnotic eyes, big and brilliant red and neon pink, lighting up her youthful, heart-shaped face. You’d also be hard pressed to miss the massive tattoo covering her right arm, a sleeve of delicate pink flowers and a curling, coral red cobra, its hood flared out near her shoulder.
When she was still under the government’s watchful eye, she was required to wear the dull navy blues of the Asset Uniform, exploring her fondness for cute fashion only while on assignment, blending in with civilians. Vivian preferred to keep her hair in a short pixie cut during her J667 days, adorned with one of her many bandanas and dyed whatever color she felt like in the moment (though pink was and is her favorite by far.) Post government-escape, however, her hair tends to be shoulder length and undyed, revealing its natural mousy brown, held back with smaller accessories like bows and hairclips. Her fugitive fashion looks are mostly comfortable, simple clothes ideal for being on-the-go, including a too-big jacket from her brother and a fuzzy purple scarf (from him as well.)
- Her hair can truly be dyed any color, though a nice hot pink is indeed her favorite!
- Her eyes flash and blink when she uses her powers, alternating pink and red and back again.
- Has a small tattoo on her lower back reading "#J667"
- Post government escape, she eventually gets a small tattoo of an anchor on her left arm. It reads "S.O.S."
- Has several scars on her torso and chest from various superpowered scuffles and government "discipline".
- Sometimes paints her nails on both her hands and feet.
- Her tears are tinted pale pink.
- After being blinded by Emmy, her pupils become essentially "shattered," appearing as a smattering of black dots in the middle of her eyes.
Personality
- Effervescent
- Talkative
- Capable
- Persistent
- Affectionate
- Remorseful
When she was #J667, Vivian was an unstoppable force in nearly every way; endlessly chatty, ruthlessly efficient, rarely ever one to give up on something she’d decided simply had to be hers. She was, quite frankly, a devious little snake, so catty and cocky, so shrill and manipulative, eager to use the good will gained from completed assignments to pamper and put herself ahead of every other Asset in her vicinity. Her emotions operated in great arcing swoops, her behavior occasionally (re: frequently) aggressive, hyperactive, off the wall bananas. To not get her way? Unthinkable! Shut up! She would cause a scene and not give a damn about who was caught in the crossfire. She loved it. Life’s more fun when you cause a little chaos!
After she met her match, though, after she was blinded and she fled the Asset Program, Vivian’s personality has shifted. She’s been humbled supremely, and while her emotions are still strong, they aren’t solely governed by arrogance and bratty urges anymore. She works hard to maintain a bubbly exterior, trying to cling to hope and kindness (something she’d struggled to let into her heart, for most of her life,) but underneath lies a reflective, melancholic sense of self, quick to tears and quiet, heavy thoughts. Genuine remorse for the things she’s done guides her hand frequently, and Vivian tries every day to be a better, gentler person, especially now that she’s found herself to be incredibly loyal to those she loves. Thankfully, she’s still just as resourceful and persistent as her “previous” self, and you better believe she won’t go down in the face of trouble without a fight.

Skills & Abilities
Vivian’s eyes have been given special implants that allow her to hypnotize people, though in the process of installation her eyes were permanently turned their odd, vivid hue. Her power works by way of color patterns she flashes from her eyes, which inhibits her target’s willpower and puts them in a sort of “trance state.” This leaves them subject to whatever she asks of them or whatever ideas she wants to put in their head, and when they wake from the trance they’ll be none the wiser that they were affected.
Thanks to the strength of the trances she can induce, her commands can be much more elaborate and have much longer effects than some other forms of mind control. Vivian can use her powers to make someone perform a simple task or give her something, sure, but she can even use them to wipe a target’s memory or rewrite their whole personality permanently, if she so chose to. Her abilities only work if the target makes eye contact with her, though, and if the color flash pattern is interrupted, the whole attempt fails.
Her eyes may have been damaged in the confrontation that blinded her, but her powers were fortunately left in tact, and she can still make use of them! She uses them much less aggressively now, though, and primarily as last resort means of defense.
History
Before she was Vivian, she was simply Izzy, Isabel Fernandez. Kidnapped by the U.S. Government at the age of 10, she was swept away from her family and forcefully initiated into their superpowered Asset program, her memory wiped and her eyes “enhanced” with experimental ocular implants developed by one of the program’s top doctors. She became just another number, Asset #J667, and between extensive training and her dangerous new hypnotic abilities, she quickly grew to excel at her government-given missions. Espionage, recon, taking care of pesky problems, it all soon became the only life she’d ever known, and she enjoyed her place in the system. #J667 was a dangerous weapon, and as far as she cared, she’d be one until the end of time.
It wasn’t until she was tasked with the reclamation of one Asset #K285/”Hijack” that her perfect track record began to crumble. It started out easy enough, toying with him, overpowering him, keeping him on a tight leash when the government smuggled him overseas to do their little tricks for them. The fact she had a raging crush (re: obsession) with him certainly helped make the work all the more fun. But she underestimated just how… troublesome this mission could be. She started slipping up, missing her mark, and it eventually culminated in the violent destruction of her eye implants at the hand of #K285’s android best friend. Permanently blind, she was taken off the assignment, taken off every assignment, and in the eyes of her government handlers, as useful as a corpse.
And so she was slated for termination.
But thanks to the bravery of an Asset she would soon call her brother and best friend, Vivian was able to escape the government’s clutches with him, fleeing into a big, daunting outside world that she’d hesitate to argue she actually belongs in. She now spends her time dodging government bounty hunters, making amends with the people she’s hurt, and learning to live in peace, and it’s the toughest job she’s ever faced. Being a dangerous weapon isn’t all she has to be now, but when you don’t remember much else, embracing your humanity isn’t exactly easy.
