Strengths:
Downloading data directly to himself, changing himself into computer data and merging with it and actually doing pretty much anything involved with data Picking up the slightest traces of network signals Altering his body through data merging like it's computer code while still maintaining physical form He can screw over any technological device in a matter of seconds Keeping his body in top notch condition cause he just WON'T STOP MOVING Confidence
Weaknesses:
Has trouble unmerging sometimes and comprehending what's going on and which reality is his if he overuses his powers so he mainly sticks to altering his body Doesn't always have the smarts for the data he might've downloaded People have trouble trusting him with how focused he is on his own happiness Can't always fix what he broke, technologically and life-wise TOO much confidence
Backstory(short version)
Age:
0: Born to a La Perm and a Sphinx as their first and only child, mom being an aristocratic violet cute and dad being a psychic scientist owning a big science thing, I can name stuff! They're moderately rich and important in the area.
6: So, of course, his childhood is just perfect. Dad is kinda strict as he's aware he has to raise his son to be someone worthy of taking over the company (since he would not trust anyone outside the family with it), but his mom is more lenient and is also home with North more than dad, so he gets what he wants, when he wants, and how he wants it.
7-12: School is kinda fun, children are nice, and studying is easy, but this is all kind of boring. At home he could run anywhere and now he can't, cause for that you can get detention and he's already been sent to the headmaster a few times which sucks. Mom, being informed that son is hyperactive and needs to chill, sends him to ballet lessons so he could perhaps let energy out via something useful. At first he's skeptical cause dancing is for girls, but soon it turns out it ACTUALLY ROCKS.
13: ENTERING TEENAGE YEARS, AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS. He's doing great at school anyway, so skipping now and then isn't gonna hurt anybody, and sitting is boring anyway, he'd rather dance! He's been learning breakdancing stuff, and together with ballet it actually makes a pretty sweet combo. Confidence, talent and muns also provide friends, better or worse, but it's still people, and they love him! Also, the internet is fun. Like yeah, video games, but there's people online, and apparently some people who think they can do cool stuff like sing do that online and are, actually, loved? That looks... fun?? Dad is kinda nagging about the whole business thing but Peter is YOUNG, he's still got TIME.
14-18: Hey remember that part about singing on the internet? Yeah that worked pretty well. From singing anything under a nickname of just 'Cat', it went to dancing anything and then buying anything and then doing anything you wish to see! And considering his parents' position and his friends' support, and Cat's upbringing, 'doing anything' meant ABSOLUTELY anything. Break a window? Yeah, sure. Steal a cookie? A jar, maybe? Or a dog. Parkour over some roofs! WITH a pirouette at the end. You wouldn't download a movie but you would steal a car tho. And yeah, there is consequences, his grades are slowly going down, and his reputation with the police and adult part of society is getting foul, with him getting sent to detention center like all the time, but his parents can and always WILL buy him out of it to defend their own reputation, and the people LOVE him! His parents also try to get him like, private teachers, after him getting thrown out of a few schools they get him into a private one, too, but honestly he can catch up with studies anytime he wants, but now's not the tiiime. He also meets Elaine Kossak somewhere around then, and falls for her instantly, and she falls back, and everything is great.
19: Meanwhile, dad is fed the fuck up. Mom is way too lenient and practically defenseless against North's humours, every line of defence has fallen, by force or reason or pleading, and the last thing North is forming up to be is his successor. And dad is getting old. He's not DYING yet, but a bit of rest would be nice. So, he takes over the parenting from mom. He has little experience with it over the 19 years but it'll do. Of course, grounding and the likes aren't gonna do much, and getting North disconnected from the internet never works cause the sneaky shit always finds a way to get it anyway and he doesn't study. He needs to get more familiar with the laboratory. They've been working on implementing powers to powerless folk recently, so that's interesting. North is skeptical and doesn't wanna go on a lil' lab trip but power stuff kinda interests him, so he comes. He comes out in his dad's arms, unconscious, with smoked fur and his body literally flickering in and out of existence. Dad claims that he did it himself, as his usual, North self, but both mom and dad know that's not true.
20-22: The experiment was a success, that is to say, Cat had to end up isolated for quite a while from all things electronical after the accident, since these and his body did not go well together. Resonating with a strange energy he never experienced before, he not only corrupted and destroyed all program-able devices, but also automatically tries to merge with them, data and actual thoughts of a real being merging together into a really confusing mess. After the initial shock died down, and the resonating waves did a little too, he could slowly start to adjust to a life on completely different conditions. He had to learn to control this power, while avoiding technology, while recovering from his actual physical injuries, while catching up on studies, since he had not much left to do anymore. At least his friends turned out to be actual friends and supported him all the way through, mom was the best mom ever as always, and even dad softened up a little. Though. That didn't stop Peter from hating him. Because he saw him. And he knows what happened there.
22-25: Studies are a BORE, so let's just get over them quickly and CONTINUE BEING A COOL SHIT. Yeah, he can't really connect with people like he did before, but he's got a cool angel wolf girlfriend, he can still dance, and sing, even if for himself, and also he's got cool-ass powers now! They're still a mess! But he's slowly getting the hang of them. Dad is helping with that. Oh yeah also about dads he's GONNA BE A FATHER THAT'S SO HYPE HOLY SH IT CAT'S GONNA BE A DAD
26-30: What do you mean child before marriage is dumb. Okay whatever HIM AND ELLIE ARE MARRIED NOW IT'S VERY HYPE ELLIE IS JUST AS HYPE AS HE IS. Edward is a.. black.. furred.. wolf, but, Ellie says that's normal in their family. Job? Well, dad dealt with that already. It's even more of a bore, but dad kinda stopped caring for what North is doing as long as he's in the lab. SO he does whatever he wants! Of course, not alone. Ellie and Edward are on with him on this eternal vacation! It's a pretty good position to get the hang of parenting also Edward is such a cutie let's make another one. This one.. this one's gonna be.. Ernest. After Ellie's dad! He died recently, by the way. Really cool guy. Started liking Peter eventually. So that's good.
31-39: Kids DO get whiter as they grow up, that's kinda weird but cool! Powers stop acting up as much. He can slowly touch the microwave without it exploding. In a year or two he could even press a button on it. Dad, despite whining about not getting to rest or retire his whole life, now that he can, is not. Work-a-holism is something Peter could never understand, but, as long as you're happy dad. In other news, Eleonore is born! ..She's also a black-soon-to-be-white wolf. Like, children are cool and everything, but why are they all white wolves AND get to keep Elaine's name? It's unfair!
35: Actually, one day on a walk, he met a kid. Funny looking one, blue, but rainbow. Spiky porcupine! He said his name was Leonard. And that he lived in an orphanage. Poor thing. He seemed smart for a kid - and was talking about some bothersome headaches and weird thoughts around other people. ...Does examining a kid in his laboratory for all that power bs count as kidnapping if he gives him a lollipop? Maybe Elaine would like him!
41: A little cute poor okay kinda ugly but still adorable mara kid ends up at his door! OF COURSE he takes him in, what else? Ernest and the kid hit it off, and the kid even gets a nice name of Felix. Some tests show that he's got underlying water-bending potential..
44: Dad dies. ..Well. Shit. Lab time. He was not prepared. ...But! His family is here! Expanded even more, now that Leonard and Felix have been actually adopted. Leo and Ernest are teenagers now, and very good students. Leo is very passionate about psychology, AND mr. Cat's laboratory! Ernest.. less so, but.. he's sure he can convince him! But dad is dead now, so what does it matter? What does the opinion of one dead, vile person with generations before him also dead, matter in light of Cat's happy family? Does it matter, if Peter disappoints them? If he goes against a dead person's wishes? He can't be hurt anymore, for the choices he makes. But they were forced upon him anyway. Why is this pressure on him? Why him, and no-one else?!
45: ... Still, the facility's plan has now been expanded, and they started accepting clients. Patients, actually, that need help. That's a good thing. Mr. Cat likes helping people. Like Felix.
48: Well, Felix thing is a bit of a bumpy ride. Though he IS developing sick-ass toxic powers. So that's cool. It's cool. Also, David comes around! Poor baby, fled home and decided to waste his life away in a dark alleyway with like five needles stuck in his arm. Mr. Cat can't allow that! So he DOESN'T!
51-53: Ernest is in a coma, his body absolutely devastated after an accident that wouldn't have happened if he wasn't sent studying against his will, as his will was to live out his young dreams and let them guide him through life and not give in to the grim reality of having to work for his dad someday. The realisation of the obvious irony here hits Peter like a freight train, and he realises that he, perhaps, fucked up. Fucked up big time. ...But he can still fix it! Ellie is by his side. And his sons don't HATE him. Maybe. Apart from Flix, who has been put off his meds as well as Cat realised he's not exactly... helping. He can fix this. Give Ernest a leg, an arm, and a chance to live his life! The same to his other kids! They're all adults. But young adults. He's not gonna interfere. But he's gonna stay helpful. It's gotta work!
54: IT WORKS. ...Okay, semi. It's STARTING to! Ernest is obviously quite shaken, and it's taken a toll on his physical and mental health. Flix has disconnected from the family rather much, apart from Ernest - but at least they have each other. Leonard and David are doing well, haven't seen them complain. David's still a real sweetheart. Leo seems to have grown up into a.. sort of.. well.. an asshole, but.. there's reasons for that that mr. Cat knows off, and they're entirely Leo's issue. Meanwhile, mr. Cat is getting old. And he can finally control his powers. And Ellie finally doesn't have to care for kids as much. ...YEAH, SECOND YOUTH TIME FT. HIS BEAUTIFUL STRONG WIFE.
58: His children seem to be happy in life. Flix hates him, he knows that. But Ernest said he's recovering. Ernest's evident addiction is worrying, but... should he force him into therapy as well? Ernest claims he knows he drinks a bit too much, but otherwise he'd have to take meds, which is even worse. Is it, though?
Well, apart from these two... things seem to be well. So they are for Ellie and mr. Cat. Lab is not going bankrupt anytime soon. Leo and Ernest take good care of it! Things are good. Too good. Boring good. ...How hard is it to make new friends when you're almost 60?
lol no-one can stop me from writing headcanons here and technically my friends agreed to this ages ago so i'll just write here who totally canonically belonged to his Mini Gang of Edgy Kids back in the day for my own reference:
