ABOUT

Daughter of the Wela Volcano Totem, Samantha is young, mischievous, and more than a little bratty. She’s known for causing problems on the team, but through their guidance, she’s starting to become a slightly less annoying Pokemon.

Joining

Samantha originally joined the team to get out of constantly being bothered by the many boys who found her desirable. Until her mom implored her to do her best with her new team, Samantha wasn’t interested in doing much more than sunbathe. Once she was asked to actually try, Samantha decided that she would–as long as she couldn’t find any easy ways out.

Growth

Although she’s a reasonably capable battler, Samantha is younger than the other members of the team, many of whom can readily defeat her in fights. This helped to humble the arrogant Salandit, and she eventually gained a grudging respect of what her teammates are able to do.

Relationships

Samantha claims to have gotten Catalyst out of her funk following Bug’s death, and insists that she should be praised for such. Catalyst claims that Samantha was just too annoying if not listened to, and the sunbathing was, admittedly, rather nice. These days, Catalyst has taken Samantha under her wing as a student, and Samantha is trying to figure out how to insist she’s gotten better all on her own while also giving Catalyst the credit she deserves.

Samantha thought she was better at battling than Violet was. She is not. Violet was the first member of the team to earn Samantha’s respect–through battle prowess, naturally–and remains the only member of the team who Samantha will listen to consistently (Mostly through threats of violence).

Elain is a master of putting out fires, both emotional and physical ones. She mostly handles the latter in Samantha’s case, accompanying her during training to make sure that forest fires are kept to a minimum.
