DAWN has the same programming team as STELLA and was the first prototype for the "Robot Celebrity" model. Her existence began before this project, however. 

DAWN was originally given the name Dana by the programmer, and she was simply a program he had written on his computer to be artificial intelligence that would grow and develop, with as close to a human memory and development as possible. He viewed this software as like his child, so once he was brought on board by Star Rise Industries for their new project, he promised her he would upload her "consciousness" if you would call it that, to the mechanical body. And he did! But the name Dana was not marketable enough or on brand for Star Rise Industries, so she was renamed to DAWN from her new code.

The development team worked on their synthesizer technology for her, but her memory banks could only handle English, so she was only programmed to handle this language. She also had limited space to hold music memory and such, but she was capable of having conversations.

So why did she need to be replaced by the enigmatic STELLA?

DAWN was a rushed project. She had many subpar or unfinished elements to her creation and there was an oversight in her needing antivirus software, especially since they were struggling for space as it was. This combined with her self awareness were a recipe for disaster. She ended up infected with a virus before she could ever even debut, and had to be factory reset, thus losing the previous identity/personality she had developed, much to the detriment of her creator. Many of her files were corrupted, including a number of her sound files. While she can still speak and sing like she was designed to, some of her sounds are corrupted.

They couldn't get rid of her, though. She had too much special technology that couldn't be leaked before the project was finished. So they kept her within Star Rise Industries.

She is sent to aid the search for Stella in the Roadbots story.
