Profile

Bio

Leon goes through life with stars in his eyes and his head in the clouds. He recently achieved his dream of becoming a star ranger, so it’s hard for him not to smile, not that it was easy beforehand. Even better is that his first deployment is on a history-making journey to Neptune and back. How lucky! In order to repay the Interstellar Forces for such an opportunity, he strives to try to be the best star ranger he can be. He can get a little in over his head at times, since he's still a rookie. Nevertheless, he keeps a pep in his step. Whether it be in the vastness of the universe or among his shipmates, he's always looking for a connection, wanting to be seen as an open and dependable friend.

Personality

Upon first impression, Leon comes off as excitable and easily impressed, especially when anything related to space or stars is involved. He’s also fairly talkative, amassing many friends over his lifetime. Despite this, he’s not as good at socializing as one would think. He’s a simple guy who doesn’t think to read between the lines, often missing things that would be obvious to others. Still, he keeps powering through. His optimism is only matched by his determination! Speaking of determination, once he gets it in his head that he can do something, he won’t give up trying, unless it hurts someone else, and his methods can get a little reckless. All of these things combined with his youthful looks could paint him as immature and a little dense which he’s not super thrilled about, but takes in stride. What he lacks in perception, he makes up for in kindness and understanding.

Backstory

Since childhood, Leon wanted nothing more than to be a Star Ranger, but he dropped his dreams early on because people around him thought the Interstellar Forces was a waste. Towards the end of highschool and without any idea for a career, he decided to see if he could join the IF. He fell in love with it all over again, and even moreso when he managed to make it through basic training and become a real star ranger!

Relationships

Mia - "Mia's really interesting. I wanna be her friend so badly!" Since they've been assigned as partners, Leon has been making his best effort to befriend this quiet, mysterious person. She's really smart and helps keep him on track and guide him along; he really appreciates it. Leon makes an effort to talk to Mia every chance he gets Also, she's from the moon!!! He thinks that's so cool and wants to know everything about life there.

Roxie - "Me and Roxie, we really get each other! She's like a big sister to me!" Leon and Roxie have a lot of the same interests, and pretty similar personalities. They're really good buddies. She treats him like a little brother, and Leon doesn't mind because she doesn't seem to think he can't be taken seriously. They love and support each other as if they're each other's cheerleaders.

Jun - "I can't believe I'm on the same ship as the legendary Jun Kim! They're so cool and down-to-earth, wow!" Leon thinks it was really nice for Jun to take the time out of their schedule to show a lowly rookie like him around the ship. They're so cool and collected! How does Jun do it, especially having done what they've done? Leon finds Jun pleasant and calming to talk to, and loves hearing them talk about their previous adventures in the IF. Jun is one of Leon's role models.

Aiden - "He's really good at what he does. But does he have to sleep naked???" This guy....He's...interesting. Leon admires that Aiden is so good at navigating with the space gear, but he's quite the character. A very unique roommate as well (but seriously, does he have to sleep naked?) To Leon, Aiden is like a big brother who picks on him. Secretly, Leon likes arguing with Aiden; he never got a chance to do anything like that with Angelo. Even between the fighting, Leon still tries to make attempts to befriend Aiden. He's not sure if it's actually working, but Aiden hasn't tried to punch him in the face yet, so that's a good sign!

Angelo - "I feel like Ángie's going to be okay. I still love him." Angelo appearing on the ship was quite a surprise for Leon, and an unpleasant one at that. Leon always kind of worried about how willing Angelo was to bend over backwards for him, but this takes the cake! He knows Angelo wasn't meaning to put his job in jeopardy, and is more worried about Angelo facing some jailtime for faking his age. Leon appreciates that Angelo is trying to be more independent and is proud of him. He thinks Angelo's a really sweet kid who's fun to hang around. Leon wishes Angelo would think better of himself. He blames himself for thinking Angelo would be okay while he went off to space.

Emil - "Gosh!! He's so cool?!?!?!?" Leon is in awe of Emil. He's so fun and cool and friendly and cool! He can play the guitar?? Leon's always wanted to play the guitar! Emil's so talented and funny, Leon wonders  why he didn't become a celebrity or something. He finds it so cool how Emil's presence livens up the ship! Emil even managed to be friends with Aiden of all people (though that's probably because Emil strokes his ego). Leon can't believe that someone as cool as Emil is his friend....

Lorenzo - "I trust the captain! I'm so thankful he's such a good leader!" For only being a year older than him, Leon is amazed that Lorenzo has his life together enough to lead a ship! It's inspiring to him. Leon can tell Lorenzo is proud of his job, and admires that. He wishes he had more time to talk to the captain about space and the IF, but figures that the captain has responsibilities far beyond befriending a rookie.

Trivia and Headcanons Made Canon

  • Has a slight lisp.
  • Has a... lacking sense of rhythm.
  • Despite his surname, summer is his least favorite season. The weather's too hot, and nights are shorter, so he can't look at the stars for as long.
