Ok so this is gonna sound nuts but stick with me here. I love Lake Leander, I go there with my family every summer for camping and hiking so I have tons and tons of photos. I was sorting through them the other day when I noticed there's this weird thing in the background in a bunch of them? At first I thought ok, it's probably just some spinx who wandered into the shot. But the silhouette doesn't look right and it's definitely the same whatever-it-is in half a dozen photos across several years. I'm still sifting through but for now I've attached one of them.

Does anyone know wtf this is? Some critter I've never heard of? Just a really creepy park ranger?? I feel like I'm losing my mind, lol.

Hmm I know of a few critters with multiple arms but nothing that matches the photo very well. 🤔 Maybe a carpcat with weird shaped headflaps? Or like you said, Lake Leander employs cursed spinxyn so it could be one of the rangers. In either case I think you would have better luck sending an e mail to the park administration instead of asking in a small forum like this.

omfg i know this is a super old thread but if ur still wondering, ive totally seen the guy ur talking about. i was there last summer and they like... dashed past my tent while i was setting up the campfire. i THINK its a cursed spinx? was about the right size n had waaaaayyy too many paws to be just a regular critter at least, i didnt see the face tho so not 100% sure. anyway i chased after them cuz... i dunno cuz i went crazy i guess lmao. they grabbed the canned pineapple i was gonna make cake with so i just lost my shit and turned into that guy who dies first in every horror movie. cant believe im still here to tell yall this story tbh

i consider myself a pretty good tracker but this guy was way too hard to track for some asshole with a million legs. i lost them eventually at the mouth of this cave. i sweeped it w my flashlight and it was just a regular cave except that, and i shit you not, there was this HUGE wall mounted tv just screwed into the rock face. no other furniture, no visible wiring, nothing. freaked me out so bad i turned and booked it straight back to my campsite, where a ranger was waiting to chew me out for leaving my fire unattended.

i tried to retrace my steps the next day but i couldnt find the place anymore. didnt take any pictures the first time either so its up to you if you decide to believe it i guess. that ranger sure didnt lmao
