☄ ATROPA

Atropa was a central figure in her community. Adored by their people, Atropa and her partner Protea were respected as leaders of the Saiyajin. Supported on all sides by her peers and family, Atropa was a confident, reliable person.

The Tsufurujin, in their attempts to further their own control over the oppressed Saiyajin people, were looking for ways to squash the last imminent danger to themselves: when the two moons align, their light causes Saiyajin to transform into giant rampaging beasts. After carrying out tests on Saiyajin cells, the Tsufurujin researchers develop a hypothesis and nab some more Saiyajin to carry out the experiment. Among the Saiyajin taken to the lab was Atropa.

When she comes to in the laboratory, she's being hit by a familiar light: it feels like she's about to transform, but nothing happens. The Tsufurujin have built an artificial blutz wave generator. However, she is no longer able to transform—because they cut her tail off.

Atropa and a single other person manage to survive, fighting their way out of the lab. The other Saiyajin in the experiment were killed in the escape. Atropa returns to her and Protea's home, wounded and incoherent; she tells Protea to stay inside, bar the doors and windows, and protect their child. After this is done, Atropa returns to the city and the lab—alone. Her fellow survivor tells any Saiyajin who will listen about what happened to him and Atropa, and gathers a group who will follow Atropa's next move. Atropa has not told her fellow survivor what she plans to do.

She retrieves the blutz wave generator from the ruined lab and takes it with her, climbing to the highest point she can get to in the city. Her fellow survivor has brought the group of Saiyajin to a rendezvous place in the city; they don't know what Atropa is doing or where she is, but have sworn to follow whatever she decides to do. It was perhaps a promise made too hastily.

Atropa raises the blutz wave generator and turns it on. Every Saiyajin who sees its light immediately transforms into their great ape forms and starts rampaging indiscriminately. Under the siege of not just one, but many of these beasts, the Tsufurujin city stands no chance. Atropa watches the rampage unfold, holding the generator, until it is done. Until the Tsufurujin people are extinct. Only then does she disable the blutz waves and release her fellow Saiyajin from their trance.

The city is in ruins. The Tsufurujin are dead. In the commotion, several Saiyajin were wounded or killed. Power plants will collapse and poison the earth. The damage that has been done to the planet is immense. Atropa decides there is nothing left to care about.

The Tsufurujin were advanced enough to be spacefaring. Their prize ship survived the destruction and Atropa decides to claim it and use it to escape Planet Plant once and for all. However, the Saiyajin people are divided; not everyone wants to follow her into space. And so, the Saiyajin race splits into two: one group which leaves with Atropa to build a new identity among the stars, and one group which stays with Protea to rebuild their homes and reclaim control over their existing culture.

Atropa thinks that what she did to her fellow Saiyajin was despicable. But she also feels that she did what she had to do. That it was ultimately an atrocity she committed for their sake. She is haunted not only by what was done to her, but also by what she did in retaliation—depriving her peers of their free will and turning them into her pawns of destruction—and ultimately believes she has been broken beyond repair.

It's been about 60+ years since then. The Saiyajin who left the planet by her side adore her. Not all of them agree with what she did that night, but it's far in the past and all of them are loyal to her. They truly believe she is capable of spearheading their future. Atropa, convinced of her own unlovability, cannot truly see how much her people long to support her, how much they adore her. She thinks she walks her penance alone, when in reality, her path is paved with the love her family has for her.

Tall; strong; luscious locks: truly the model Saiyajin! Her hair reaches to mid-back. Atropa's body is littered with scars from decades of getting into trouble. Notably, two of them stripe down the side of her face (they're the only standardized ones in the design lmao).

She does not have a tail. It was surgically removed. In Atropa's universe, tails do not grow back, so this is permanent and not optional.

Atropa prefers sturdy clothes and armor. Because she has access to intergalactic materials and resources, there's kind of no limit on what she can be drawn wearing. Go Atropa! Also, her ears are pierced.

As a Saiyajin, Atropa possesses supreme physical strength and stamina. She trains inexhaustibly and is an extremely skilled fighter. Back home, she was a pillar of her community, a born leader with abundant charisma and reliability.

Thanks to her rancid trauma brain and the powerful self-loathing she grapples with, she was able to unlock Super Saiyajin while training. She has later achieved SSJ2 and SSJ3, as well as mastery of the base SSJ form. Because she lacks a tail, SSJ4 is unavailable to her.

Atropa has developed her leadership skills towards becoming an intergalactic ambassador. She's become a powerful negotiator who is able to communicate well with other races. She is also known as one not to cross; while she is friendly and willing to negotiate in times of peace, she is also the captain of a fleet of Saiyajin ships known to be formidable in combat. Her friendly associates occasionally hire her ships as protection against threats along the intergalactic trade routes; their insignia is known on sight by most.
