Personality

I have different assumptions from those around me concerning personal space, blithely invading others’ space in innocence, or reacting to ignorant invasion of my own. Miri is a very warm person, and she's definitely not afraid to inflict physical affection on anyone. She's learning... slowly.

Ideals

Open. I have much to learn from the kindly folk I meet along my way. She makes every effort to hear both sides of a conflict, and to consider viewpoints other than her own. (Apparently, she didn't hear about how paladins are supposed to be ridiculously strict.)

Bonds

The gods of my people are a comfort to me so far from home. Though private about her faith, Miri turns to her god after every battle and before she turns in every night.

Flaws

I pretend not to understand the local language in order to avoid interactions I would rather not have. This has not been an option for her yet, since nobody else in the party is qualified to lead interactions (in her mind). They are all a little... yeah. But she would love to wiggle out of the situations she frequently finds herself in with a little bit of deception.

About

Marianne "Miri" Jhomas is a sweet centaur. She appears to have a great love for stories, poems, folklore, fables, and any type of knowledge she can find. She takes pride in her appearance, but she's never afraid of jumping into battle to protect her friends. (She also has a huge sweet tooth!)

Miri is on a quest of a personal nature. She's not very willing to reveal details. She comes from a land of many tall, vibrant trees; she insists that the air there is "alive" and the trees know secrets and have feelings, but she seems unable to describe where exactly this land is or how she arrived in the lands of Duchess Morwin. Her religious rites seem to include telling story of the day to her god nightly and, upon killing anything, sending a wish that their story be known to her deity.

NOW THAT YOU'VE COME THIS FAR...

Miri found herself in the lands of the Duchess Morwin and was invited to dine at her castle with a group of mercenaries who frequented the area. The duchess requested that they find a way to remove a caravan of traveling performers from her lands, and that was where it all began. Soon enough, she was traveling to the domain of the Count Strahd von Zarovich in the company of Squeakers, Gargat, and Tumtum Quickfingers, her new best friends. They learned about each other as they sought out a guide into Strahd's castle deeper in his territory. Not long into their journey, they met with the fearsome Strahd firsthand. He tested their might against one of his guards, then raised the corpse in a show of strength, leaving them injured, afraid, and confused.

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

While making themselves at home in Vallaki, Miri and her party picked up a couple of new friends: Destry and Rashashana. They adventured together for a time, completing such exciting errands as escorting a cartload of wine to an exhausted innkeeper, toting around a restrained woman for no clear reason, and retrieving the body of a man's daughter, then delivering him the news.

AND WHERE DO YOU STAND?

Ever since, their luck has been failing somewhat. They visited the Abbey of Saint Markovia in Krezk, which was a horrifying experience, full of monstrous human hybrids, but they also were able to cease the horrible drug-pie operation at the Bonegrinder Windmill. They've grown closer as they fought and steadily grew closer to defeating the dread prince Strahd von Zarovich.

Squeakers the Mountain  [ ]

Squeakers, her fellow clergyman, is a source of wisdom and light. (Literally. He's a light cleric.) She has seen that he can't aim for shit in combat, and she's mentally filed him away as "squishy, needs protection". She trusts him as an emotional ally, and she appreciated the hug that he offered after they killed the druids. She'll turn to him for comfort, as evidenced by their experience when possessed by the ghosts of the children Rose and Thorn. Miri believes him to be more perceptive than he appears.

Tumtum Quickfingers  [ ]

Tumtum is an oddball. Miri can't tell what he's thinking, but she can tell he's... not thinking much. Thus far, however, he's been a loyal ally, and she distinctly appreciates his ability to sneak around. She doesn't trust him, and she thinks he might be a lot younger than he lets on. She has made several attempts to take him under her wing. (She's noticed that he is a bad influence on Squeakers, and tries to separate them when possible.)

Rashashana  [ ]

The party monk, Rashashana, is a bit of a mystery. She always wears a wooden mask, and her ethics are questionable. Miri appreciates her as an ally, but she finds her stoicism odd. She's almost as good at sneaking as Tumtum is, which makes her essentially a backup rogue in her mind.

Destry Uvielle  [ ]

Destry is a quiet, polite, and unpredictable sorceress in the party. She surprised Miri with the level of care and tenderness she showed her when she was afraid of setting foot in a boat, and Miri would definitely lay down her life for her at this point.

gargat.png

Gargat  [ ]

Gargat is the group's barbarian. Miri does not trust him. (It's difficult to do that once you've seen someone try to tear a dead man's arm off.) He is a respectable fighter and he takes direction well in combat, but Miri has strong disagreements with the way he treats the dead. She finds him dishonorable. However, she was saddened by the fact that he became addicted to dream pies during their visit in Barovia. When she found him, he attacked her, and she had to struggle to restrain him until the rest of the party arrived to help. They got him set up with his own house in town, and have left him behind.
