Jealous of everyone's looks and disgusted by their own, they wrapped themselves up in bandages.
And stole from those they were jealous of.

NV.
Envy.
That wasn't their name, but they couldn't remember what it was anymore. All they remembered was that word. That name. The name of a soul they wish they'd never met.
They remembered seeing a body. It was alive but could not move or speak except for that voice. Envy's voice. It wanted freedom, it begged for it. It offered powers, riches, the power to be loved. They helped free Envy's soul, but it went straight for their body.
What they were given was terrible pain, and terrible power as well.
But Envy... Envy was clever. It constantly spoke in their mind, pulling at their doubts and worries, strengthening their insecurities until all they could do was rely on its power.
They were nothing more than its puppet now.

Notes: I once had an old design for Envy that I didn't think would work: a person with wraps all around them that could use said wraps to steal traits from people. It was a good concept, but I couldn't really elaborate on it, so I shelved it. And when I thought that I wouldn't be able to make Envy again, this design called to me, and with more ideas!

Personality: NV doesn't enjoy socializing; they much prefer to observe from a distance. If forced into a conversation, they'll either stay silent or give short responses. They're cold and stoic, with a cripplingly low self-esteem. Ironically, because of how low their esteem is they tend to only see good traits in others.

Non-Human Abilities:
- Immortality - Housing the soul of a Sin prevents them from aging.
- Mist - A green mist that can shroud NV up like a smokescreen or even teleport them around. Sometimes it can solidify into a vulture, usually scouting areas for them.
- Mummify - If NV sees something of yours that they want, they'll try to wrap their bandages around you. The wraps will move like tendrils, and if they constrict around you they'll steal your traits off your face, like removing your eyes completely so that NV can have them. If NV ever chooses to remove their wraps, they can put together an appearance with whatever traits they've stolen from anyone, ever. So, in a way, limited shapeshifting.
- Pyramid - A special, world bending ability of NV's. Here they'll trap someone in a pyramid that slowly begins to fill with sand. They will have a limited time to escape before either the sand buries them or NV catches them. If NV catches them they'll mummify them and steal every aspect of them completely. Including their powers.
- Full Form - When using all of Envy's powers, NV's own powers dramatically increase. Here they also change appearance, but the most noticeable difference is that they have a new power - Sarcophagus - which causes several coffins to appear, each one with a different interpretation of their opponent. These copies will aid NV and fight the opponent.

Drawing Details: Every ounce of NV is covered in wraps, the only area not covered is their right eye, but even the skin is covered in shadows. Despite being wrapped up, NV wears loose street clothes.

Fun/Extra Facts:- 

- Prefers they/them pronouns since nothing about them is visible but doesn't mind he/him, she/her. 

- Their wraps are capable of stealing limbs, personalities, or even someone's voice! Anything you have, they can take.

- They're capable of returning what they've stolen, though it's practically impossible to with Envy constantly refusing to let them. That doesn't mean it hasn't happened before, though.

- If they weren't wearing their wraps you'd be able to see "ENVY" branded on their left shoulder. No matter what appearance they take on, that brand will always be on their shoulder.

- The brand on their shoulder changes depending on who reads it. It'll always read "ENVY" but in the reader's native language.

- Doesn't like jokes.

- Has never laughed or cried.

- Likes rap music.

- Envy is constantly talking in their head and is mostly the reason behind stealing people's looks.

- Because of Envy, their self-esteem is destructively low. Trying to help them will give them Imposter's Syndrome, and it will typically backfire with them not believing you and thinking you want to make fun of them.

- The only person Envy has ever liked is Sloth, because Sloth never cared (literally) about what it did and thus never judged it.

- They were never meant to house Envy's soul, hence why Envy has such excellent control over them.

- People that house the souls of Sins essentially have no reason for living other than this purpose. If they were to fall in love then they'd admit to having another reason to live, and the Sin's soul would leave their body, killing them in the process.
