When Envy isn't talking about what looks to steal its talking about Sloth, and now all NV wants is to meet this Sloth and get Envy to shut up.
Nikolai sealed away Envy's soul long ago. How they got out and got a new body is beyond him, but it makes him nervous.
Eros is perfect. He's handsome and charming. Everyone comes into that small cafe because of him. Even NV comes in for him. They want his looks.
Eros wants NV to open up to him and reveal their inner beauty. He never fails to say hello whenever they pass by! The cupid is oblivious to their desire to take his looks away from him.
Gustav is something Envy is always telling them to avoid. He wants to split them apart, and NV can't let that happen. Who else would tolerate them?
NV was never meant to contain Envy's spirit, and of course the only one with the authority to stop that is... him. Every time Gustav even THINKS about approaching that... that THING he can't stop shaking!
[AU] NV has never truly had a friend. There were some that cared for them, but none they could call close. Just faces to steal. Salvador, though, seemed to not fear or pity them, and instead saw them as equal. For once, NV was confident in calling someone their... friend.
[TH AU]: Leika and Roswell always make fun of the type of people Salvador befriends. Even with Salvador's lack of oozing charisma managed to form a solid friendship with the Sin. Finally having he confidence to call someone a friend is mutual
[Employee?] Envy tells them that Lan created it and the other Sins, and is, in a sense, a boss-- or even a father to them. The idea of the shadows and the darkness all coming from one single entity, one that's already aware of them and everything they've done, is frightening to NV, and leaves them with the constant fear that they're being watched. And judged.
[Boss?] Lan is aware of the situation of an improper host housing a Sin. He can tell very well that both souls are incompatible, and he's sure it's obvious to everyone else. Yet he has yet to step in and interfere. He feels that the best choice right now is to monitor the situation.
There have been plenty of people to insist NV was not as hideous as they believed, but none as persistent as Caelestis. Although they disagreed each time, they couldn't help but consider the words uttered by someone so charming and beautiful. If he was willing to say such things, maybe there really was some truth to it? Envy, however, would beg to differ.
It's... a difficult situation. At first, it was largely only a mix of intrigue and superficial attraction. NV was interesting—mysterious—and he wanted to learn more. To get to know them better. These casual feelings did not last long, however, and ended up developing into deep, passionate feelings of love, quickly and nearly overwhelmingly. Motivated by these feelings, he was able grow closer to them, only for everything to crash down all at once, as a result of both his own foolishness and NV's apparent fears. Even as everything seemed to suggest that they were better off without him, and that perhaps it truly would be best to simply move on, the pains of being without them extended so far that Caelestis still could not resist the urge for a bit of selfishness. As shameful as it is, he's willing to do nearly anything he must for even the possibility of being happy with them once more. He only hopes that NV can be happy as well in the process.
NV had come across the Green Paladin one day in a forest they were traversing. Noticing that she needed help, they hesitantly offered it, and was glad that she'd accepted.
Envy wants them to take her traits, telling them that it's the only way for them to be liked. Although they can agree that Illanya is skilled and beautiful, they would rather have her as a friend, and hopes such feelings can be returned... and that they can hold Envy back.
[TH AU] Though initially apprehensive of NV and their intentions, she's come to trust them. Whether or not this is a problem is yet to be seen. While Illanya is still careful around them, she desires to at least help this new acquaintance. She's not sure what she needs to do, but she's willing to wait and see.
A beast NV always knew was inside them. To them, that's what Envy is.
This is a form created from NV's breakdown; an amalgamation of fractured emotions put together in a rush to form a twisted monster.
Loretta is everything NV wishes they could be: beautiful, strong, skilled, loved. They hate her for it, they admire her for it, and they fear her for it. They want to be her so badly, but for the sin of Envy, the idea of rumors spreading about them to influence people to hate them is perhaps their biggest fear, so they keep a distance around her all the time.
NV triggers a sort of maternal instinct within Loretta, and the exact reason for that she can't pinpoint. Maybe because as an actress, envy was a feeling she knew most closely...? She knows their complicated feelings around her, so she doesn't push. Still, she leave them some sweets if they ever want some.
NV admires Jet's self-preservation. To sell one's own brother takes an incredible amount of resolve, and it only made his life for the better. They wish they could have that same strength. It's a shame he won't let them around him to study him.
NV's a freak in Jet's eyes. They weren't even meant to be a Sin in the first place, so why they stay as one is beyond him. One thing's for sure, though, they're not allowed in ANY of the stores he owns, and that goes a hell of a lot beyond just casinos. Too bad that freak steals faces, it's hard to tell just who's who sometimes.
"It would be an honor to die by your hand."
Where NV is full of doubts and insecurity, Jordyn is nothing but confidence and wit. It is because of this stark difference that they vie for her attention and praise. Several times she has tried to harm them, and each time they have willingly walked into a trap, coerced by such warm words, even if each one was drenched in poison. Even now they are aware they are only an object in her eyes, but to be by her side, they feel, is an honor. Perhaps being so close to her will give them a glimpse of how to be confident and strong.
"Did you miss me, love?"
Jordyn views NV as a great power. In equal measure as they are dangerous, they are also inherently useful. The serpent god has a very utilitarian view on her relationships with others, and her relationship with NV is a bit of a gamble... but this time, she decided to bet on herself. Though she does not trust the sin themselves, she does trust in her own ability to control others; especially those as vulnerable as NV. As a result, they will find themselves on the receiving end of her favor, her attention and affections guiding their actions towards her own twisted desires.
To NV, Alistair is an angel. He has such beautiful looks, more beautiful than many they've seen, and a voice as delicate as rose petals. Beauty-- perfection like that could easily control legions of people with as much as a wink. Surely, Alistair must know that? Surely he must realize his gifts? NV would love nothing more than to have just one of those perfect traits.
“Tell me, NV… Just, what do you see in me?”
To Alistair, NV is a god. A being that cannot die from neither the flow of time or external causes, the proxy of a metaphysical concept so primordial that mortals cannot simply comprehend its full breadth. And yet, NV envies HIM. Alistair, a fragile boy of glass leashed in his cage like a dog, a broken man with an even more broken sense of self. NV is everything Alistair wishes to be, and he found it ironic that the sin would think so highly of someone as lowly as him. If only the mortal man himself possess a sliver of NV’s power…
NV sees a little of themselves in Ray with how he gets manipulated by Pride. However, they can't fathom actually accepting and wanting that attention like Ray seems to do. It will end badly.
What a freak. For someone as powerful and attractive as Ray, Envy is a pure nightmare. Just looking at them gives him the shivers. Ugh.
