Momo is a Moroccan blader introduced in the fan story Quest for the Miracle Power. Formely known as the fearless thief "Hyena Queen", she presented to Ginga and his friends as a mini-villian at first who stole their beyblades and gave them a lot of troubles.

Ginga's pure heart and passion for beyblade made her repent about her actions and have a change of heart. Momo will join him and his group, and become one more ally in the search for the Miracle Power and to fight against the Forgotten Order.

Appearance

Momo is a young woman with slightly tanned skin, wine colored eyes and an exaggeratedly long and straight purple hair. Since she doesn't really take good care of her hair and never cut it properly in the past, her hair is very messy and with irregular cuts. She wears her hair in a high pony tail (with some loose tufts of hair); said pony tail is also tied up 2 times.

She has a slender body but with toned arms and legs, which is really resistant. Even though she's not that big/muscular, she has a lot of physical strenght. She has dark circles under her eyes and a huge scar on her left arm (that she covers most of the time), product of a lion bite; she got this scar in one of those lions vs hyenas confrontations, the damage wasn't that big thanks to the hyenas that were with her that saved her just in time. Even so, the wound was big enough to leave her that huge scar and a little bit of damage on her left arm (sometimes if she overuses her left arm it starts to hurt a little).

She has tunnels on both of her ears. On her left ear she also has a gold earring with the shape of a chain with a small ruby attached in the end (her favorite piece of jewelry). On both of her legs she has gold bracelets (five on each leg).

She usually wears tribe-esque kind of clothing (the place she grew up, the tribes that she used to interact with and her life style are what influenced her clothing style). Momo dislikes any kind of clothing that cover her way too much, stuffs like big jackets/coats, long pants, sweaters and in general way too much clothes annoy her and make her feel restricted; but she doesn't like skimpy clothing that are too impractical either (like mini-skirts). Momo's clothing style is mostly skimpy but comfortable, she likes to wear tops, short pants, walking shorts and sometimes probably leggings; most of the time she likes to wear something on her left arm that covers her scar (even though she doesn't mind showing it, she doesn't like to expose it all the time cause she thinks is a gross scar and she despise it), she also always include some pieces of jewelry on her attire as she really likes jewelry (her left ear earring is always present no matter what she decides to wear). Momo is always barefoot, she never wears shoes cause she's not used to them and she stronlgy dislikes them.

Personality

Momo initially appears in the story as someone mean, tricky and treacherous, the kind of person one would call a "scum"; being a thief and having to face/witness some of the scum of the world made her believe that all human beings, including herself, are all trash and that people who act "noble" and with "honor" are just deceiving themselves. But meeting Ginga and his group of friends really had an impact on her and made her have a major personality change, as not only Ginga influenced her with his pure heart and honest affection for Beyblade, he also made her realize she was deceiving herself by trying to act like she was ok with living as a scum, he made her realize she was indeed unhappy with her life back then and that each time she used Beyblade for dirty purposes she was only hurting herself more and more, she would end up "dead inside" if she kept with that life style instead of being honest with herself.

Overall Momo is a loud person with short temper, very cheeky, stubborn and with a lot of curiosity for the world that surrounds her. She can be described as a "savage girl" with no manners at all, as she's pretty much impulsive, rude and someone with a pretty vulgar language, also she can be very naive when it comes to modern "human society" as she grew up in the African savanna around wild animals; she believes humans social behaviour is too complicated and is usually annoyed by that. Momo's personality is mainly "dominant", she will not hesitate to kick the butt of anyone who insults her or sees her as "weak"; the fact that she grew up in a hyena clan, where dominance is the key of having a high status among the clan, is the main reason of her dominant and somewhat aggressive personality. Momo is also a pranker (she loves practical jokes and teasing people) and someone usually very careless, but even though she can be careless and somewhat lazy, she works hard when she wants to achieve something. Due to her liking for money, Momo can be somewhat greedy and often comes with ridiculous plans to earn money that surprisingly work most of the time, unfortunately she doesn't keep the money she earns too long as she spends it very fast.

Momo is very proud of her physical strength and never loses a chance to showcase it either on bey battles or real hand to hand combat. She oftenly partakes on street fights or gang fights as she simply can't resist the urge to fight against physically strong opponets when she sees them. 

Despite being a criminal in the past, Momo is incredibly loyal to the ones she considers her friends and will protect them at all cost (at the point of not caring if her life is in risk); she cherish Ginga and his gang a lot as they were the ones that showed her "light" and gave her the chance to start over, something she will be forever greateful to them. When meeting new people, Momo tends to be distrustful and not friendly; she may be easily considered by others as a person difficult to tolerate (due to her temper, her lack of manners, her liking for tease people and practical jokes, and her kinda offensive sense of humor), but once you earn her friendship you'll have a loyal friend that maybe sometimes may annoy you, maybe sometimes she would be blunt and drastic, maybe sometimes she would get you in troubles because of her careless nature, but she will be there for you, advice you the best she can (at her own particular way), makes you laugh, and maybe show you her "sweet side" (that is probably that she will deny as she doesn't like when people think she's soft).

When falling in love, Momo is very straightforward with her feelings and will not hesitate to openly express them, she also can be somewhat "romantic" as she likes to show her affection to her loved one with compliments and small details. Even though she can be passionate about her feelings, she will not force them into the one she loves nor force him to correspond her feelings, she may not look like it but she actually can be very understanding.

Likes

Due to her curious nature, Momo really enjoys exploring, specially the new places she visits. She likes to take long naps outdoors (in places like parks when she's in the city) cause it gives her a nostalgic feeling of her days in the savanna. She also has a strong liking for jewelry (gold made things specially), she likes to collect pieces of jewelry that calls her attention, sometimes she may wear some of these pieces, and objects made of gold (she kinda see all these things like finding "treasures"). Money is another of her favorite things, but she sadly spend it very fast either on ridiculous things, food or the pieces of jewelry she likes to collect. She of course enjoys spending time with her friends (beyblading, training or just simply hanging out) and occasionally teasing them. Her favorite type of food includes meat (she loves pretty much all types of meat), spicy food (sometimes she may steal some of Masamune's spicy pockys) and chocolate chips cookies. Because of her pranker nature, she likes comedy movies, being her favorite type slapstick comedy (she also laughs at poorly made horror movies, she finds them hilarious). When it comes to music, she got fond of latin american music (salsa mostly) when they traveled around latin countries, but her favorite music gender is definitely reggae, being her favorite song "Jah Jah Go" by Mulato.

Dislikes

The thing Momo dislikes the most are lions, due to the fact that she pretty much grew up as a "hyena" lions are her natural "enemies" and absolutely hates when people prefer lions over hyenas, it really piss her off; because of this Momo dislikes and just can't get along with Kyoya (who also dislikes her back), as he's pretty much a "lion boy", but of course the fact that both have strong tempers/personalities is another reason why they have a hard time getting along. Because her sense of smell is very sensitive (as much as a dog smell) she dislikes strong smells like cologne/perfume smell, as they make her feel uncomfortable and numbs her nose; the smell she dislikes the most is the smog smell. Due to her dominant personality, Momo doesn't like too bossy people, wich is why sometimes she can be seen having strong arguments with Madoka (wich they actually solve very fast in the end and don't affect their pretty good friendship). Momo dislikes most of technological devices (such as computers, cellphones, etc), because she just can't understand how to use them (mostly because she's illiterate) and she doesn't have the patience either, but that doesn't mean she hates all technology though. The food she dislikes the most are vegetables, she finds them gross (sometimes Madoka tries to force her to eat her vegetables alleging that she needs them as well on her diet, creating some of kind of comedic scene between the two), but she's fine with fruits though. Even though she never reveals her past name to her friends, she hates it and she doesn't want to be called by that name as that is not her name anymore; Nile at some point accidently finds out about Momo's past name and even though he respects her wishes of not using that name nevermore, he once told her she "used to have a cute name", wich made Momo to feel flustered.

Fears

Momo is terrified of anything related to ghosts, demonic entities and those kind of paranormal beings. Stuffs like Voodoo dolls, ouija boards, hunted places/objects, totally scares her. She's scared of these things cause ghosts and the likes are not something she can directly confront or fight, the thought of having to confront something that can harm you but you can't do anything about it to protect yourself terrifies her. This fear originated from one time when she witnessed a ritual some tribe perfomed, apparently looking at this ritual traumatized her enough to be scared of all those things for life. Horror movies however, doesn't scare her at all as she's aware those are fake, she actually has the habit to critize the cheap plots most of these movies have when she's watching (which can be either funny or annoying to the people watching the movie with her).

Momo doesn't feel comfortable traveling on planes, this is not as strong as her other fears and is more like a "discomfort" rather than a fear. The idea of being so high in the air without any chance to scape if something happens really makes her uncomfortable and feel uneasy; she still can travel on planes, the fear is not that strong to prevent her from doing it, but she won't be happy about, she'll most likely feel nervous during all the travel and will sigh of relief when the plane finally lands.

Momo's biggest and deepest fear is the fear of losing the ones she loves (not in the sense of her loved ones abandoning her, but in the sense of her loved ones being killed, hurt or kidnapped in front of her eyes and she not being able to do anything to prevent it), it's because of this fear that sometimes she doesn't care about risking her life to protect her loved ones and pretty much completely forgets about her own security. This fear originated from the times she witnessed members of her hyena family being killed by lions when confronting them; she understands is the law of nature, but she can't help to feel frustrated at no being able to protect the members of her "family" (like her deceased hyena brother, Mosi).

Beyblade

Spiral Hound 90MF

Momo's current/main Beyblade is Spiral Hound, but this wasn't her first Bey. Her first Beyblade was a Storm Raven; due to her aggressive battle style this Beyblade ended up useless thus forcing her to get rid of it and find a new Bey. After this she had another Bey who had the same luck than Storm Raven. Momo then starts her search for a Bey that suited her better; being involved in the Black Market of Beyblade made possible for her to have access to rare Beyblade parts, and that's how she got introduced to the Spiral Metal Wheel (wich was a creation of Hades INC and got introduced on the black market thanks to some workers from there). She then build up Spiral Hound with all the rare parts she got on the black market. Spiral Hound adapted perfectly to Momo's battle style and Momo claimed that was the Bey that understands her the most; she grew very close to her Bey and also she claims that due to the fact that Spiral Hound has a "shady origin", it's the only one Bey that could understand a scum Blader like her (Spiral Hound could be seem as an "impure" Bey due to the fact that it was build with parts obtained in a illegal way, just like she is an "impure" person for all the crimes she committed in the past).

Battle Style

The most notorious thing about Momo's beyblade style is that she's really aggressive and brutal when she attacks, she can be very ruthless and will not contain herself no matter the level of her opponent. Momo's physical strength and agility are also reflected on her beyblade style, she's pretty much unbeatable when it comes to brute force. Since Hound is an attack type Beyblade, Momo relies a lot on her attack power and she also has a great speed, but her defense is very poor and it's pretty much her weak point. Despite Momo being pretty impulsive in her battle style, that doesn't mean she would just blindly attack her opponent all the time; she uses her experience in the savanna to come up with her battle strategy, she tries to associate her opponent's Bey with a wild animal she had to face before (she looks at their battling style to come with an association), this association makes her easier for her to come up with a plan to beat her opponent. When facing an opponent that shows a lot of brute force, Momo gets very excited as she loves to test Hound's brute force just as much as she loves to test her physical strength; it could happen that she would throw away strategies and just directly attack her opponent to force them to show her all their strength.

Special Move

Double Impact Earthquake is her special move. Consists on creating some kind of mini earthquake by hitting the ground with lots of attack power. When hitting the ground, the opponent's Bey is sent to the air by the force of the impact, then is hit by pieces of the surface they're battling on (the impact Hound creates is strong enough to create a "mini-earthquake" that damages the battlefield creating cracks and then breaking it), and finally the Bey is hit by Hound with a tremendous force.

Other Key Moves

Her other moves don't have names, she just yells a specific phrase:

"Bite them hard!": Hound jumps in the air and lands directly in the opponent's Bey with tremendous force. Once it lands in the opponent's Bey it remains stick to it not letting it go and causing the most damage it can (like a beast's bite).

"Show your claws, Hound!": Hound increases its speed and creates air slashes sharp enough like a beast's claws. The opponent's Bey is pretty much hurt by Hound's fierce scratches.

Quotes

Trivia:

• Momo's speaking mannerisms are similar to yankii (delinquent) type of characters. She speaks in a rude manner and cusses quite frequently.

• Momo is illiterate.
  • Nile is the one that teaches her how to read and write. Initially it was Madoka who tried to teach her, but she didn't have enough patience and also Momo used to get easily distracted and barely payed her any attention. Because of this, Nile took the job of teaching Momo how to read and write and he was far more successful with this task (Momo likes Nile's teaching methods better and of course she takes the chance to enjoy his company. Nile also ended up enjoying to give these lessons to Momo).

• Momo is ambidextrous, though sometimes she uses her right hand a little bit more as her scar/wound on her left arm limits her actions a little.

• She's better at recognizing people by their smell rather than their look. Whenever she forgets someone's face, she can easily remember them by their smell.

• The first time she saw Nile, she thought he was a prince coming from Egypt, because of that she has the habit to call him "Prince Nile", a nickname that Nile didn't like too much as is embarrassing, but no matter how many times Nile told Momo to not call him like that, she just kept calling him like that until eventually he got used to it. 

• Momo doesn't follow a specific religion, but she's not an atheist either. She believes in an universal spirit that conects all living things, and she calls it Mother Earth (to sum it up, God for her it's Mother Earth).

• After Momo stopped tormenting the village and left the place, other criminals that were afraid of hyenas took the chance to assault the village. When Momo returned to the village looking for forgiveness, she saw the situation and made a deal with the villagers: She will order the hyenas to protect them for criminals, but in exchange they have to welcome the hyenas on their village, treat them with respect and feed them. The villagers accepted and with the pass of the time they grew fond of the hyenas and lived in harmony with them.

• Even though she's a skilled blader (being on the same level as characters like Tsubasa, Nile or Yuu), she's not strong enough to beat a Legendary Blader. However when it comes to hand to hand combat she's a terrifying opponent and too few people can match with her ridiculous brute force. She's better as a fighter than she's as a blader.

• Momo can only command the hyenas of her clan (as she's their leader), she can't command any random hyena that crosses her path.

• Voice Sample of my desired japanese VA for Momo (Sakamoto Chika). And this is a Sample of how Momo would speak (see WarGreymon X). She can fake her voice to sound seductive when she's messing around or teasing someone, but normally she speaks harsh (similar to WarGreymon) and loud.

• Some of the nicknames (which are usually offensive) she has given to people: "Chibi" for Yuu; "Smelly Cat" for Kyoya; "Dumbasses" for Masamune and Benkei; "Chicken Wings" for Tsubasa; "Rich Bastards" for all of Team Excalibur; "Geezer" for the Village's chief.

• Because she used to be a criminal, there're still "Wanted" posters of her in some places. These posters usually portray her face in very unrealistic, ridiculous and hilarious ways.
