A carnivorous, nocturnal plant that spends its whole day idly absorbing sunlight, storing it in the liquid inside the transparent pouch on its chest. When night comes, the light will attract smaller mammals which, when close enough, will get harpooned by the plant's long, venomous tongue. The large flower on its head will open to reveal its actual mouth(with several reverse teeth on each petal that prevents prey from climbing back up), which then swallows the animal alive and whole. Paralyzed, they sink into the same pouch they were attracted to in the first place to be digested.

Even though it can be dangerous, it's not at all aggressive unless provoked(or if you're meal-size) and hardly really moves much at all. Its life is lead very much by instinct, but it's also a curious creature and will investigate anything unusual. It doesn't have eyes and instead sees using thermoception, meaning there is a pair of tiny holes at the tip of its tongue that detects heat sources from his environment, so it uses it as a feeler when it wants to move around or examine something. The mouth is simply a gaping hole and cannot be closed.

Its name is a very basic attempt at latin. The meaning is supposed to be "arrow trap", referring to how it hunts by harpooning its tongue into the victim, though I'm not sure if it's accurate grammar-wise.
