“Calligraphy is smart, and she makes good use of it. She’s practical and wise, which Aurelia needs. I wish other people were easier to deal with for both of us, but if someone’s ever bothering her? I can deal with that.”
"Sherri is... Really cool. I feel safe around her. I never had any aunts before marrying Aurelia, - just my great-uncles. Sherri is a good aunt, I think. She's really smart and just so... I don't know, collected? She's always in control, and that's part of what makes me feel safe I think. She's someone I like that I can look up to."
"Bonnevali is really sweet and caring when it comes down to it. She's fussy, and she can be hard to understand, and she doesn't always know what she wants... but that's who she is. Once you get used to it, you don't really want her to change things up anymore. I love her, and I hope I've made up for the way she felt when she came back at first."
Bonnevali had a very bumpy introduction to her adopted sister. Initially to Bonnevali Sherri was a testament of what she couldn't be, and what her family really wanted as a sister and daughter instead of her. She resented Sherri for that. But when the switch was finally flipped Sherri ended up becoming one of Bonnevali's closest siblings.
"I don't really get Sherri a lot of the time. But she's real cool and commanding and great in a fight. She's cute when she gets excited about stuff. I liked being able to spar with her and go and do fun stuff, like our tea parties. If anyone tries to say she's not a part of my family they're going to have to answer to the wrong end of my machete."
"I can't tell if Aurelia underestimates himself, if he just suffers from being the middle sibling, or both. But he has a lot of potential, and a lot of room to grow."
"Sherri's really interesting and reliable, and strong! She has a lot of responsibilities, I don't know how she does it. I forgot she's not my aunt actually, it's kind of embarrassing. But she doesn't seem to mind it, and I... Well I like calling her that :)"
"I'm very proud of Hal and the progress he's made as a magician. He took to it far better than I would've expected from any of Bonnevali's kids. It's more proof that sometimes the apple launches itself from the tree, I guess? Is that how that metaphor works? Anyway, he's very skilled and very powerful. The hardest part is reining him in, not cutting him loose."
Strange. She was wary of him at first, then irritated, and then, finally, accepting. She cares about him and is pretty sure the feeling is mutual at this point.
Interesting and intriguing, didn't expect to get as attached as he is now.
"I've heard as much about Rhondite as I've heard *from* her. She's got a ton of talent... but I can see where Chesnut comes from, saying she needs a bit more control. She's getting it though, certainly, and I don't think she really needs a teacher at this point. I'm happy to help when she gives me the chance, and to learn about how she does things. It was nice to learn that *someone* else has to deal with a lot of the same things as I do, like the trash demons."
Respects the power her cousin wields and trusts her enough to go to her for magical advice.
The aunt she's always wanted. As far as Sherri is concerned, Bismuth isn't doing anything wrong. She can be a little overbearing at times, sure, but after the first few decades of her life, Sherri is quietly accepting of that.
Bismuth wishes she could have been in Sherri's life earlier as she does with all of her sister's family. Is always happy and ready to help with any problem, no matter how small, though laments that her lack of magical aptitude. Believing it to lower the help she'd be able to give to her niece.
One of her most intimidating siblings. Sherri doesn't like being stuck in conversations with Corsetta alone, and finds it very hard to argue with or refute her, even when Corsetta has basically no leverage. Despite all that, she loves Corsetta and is willing to be a confidante for her much as Eudoxia is.
“He’s been through so much. And I’m proud of him for doing it. I like it when he practices magic with me, but I like it even more when he and Jesster are safe and sound. He deserves it.”
"Aunt Sherri is a... Hm. She feels kind of like a pillar. Not an usogami pillar to be clear, I mean like,,, like a central support to a building. She's immovable, strong, she keeps the roof up, keeps us safe... I uh. I'm grateful for her. She someone I know that can protect.. me... And Jesster. And any and all of us really."
Sherri wasn't sure how to handle Valorie at first, having met her when she was young, shy, and unsure about new people in her life after Addhema's previous partners. Over time, though, she's warmed up to her, and she really enjoys Valorie's music.
Sherri loves Paha, even though there's little overlap between their interests and the things they do. She was welcoming, and she's a neat, orderly person who knows what she wants. She helps her understand Melissa, one of her most rambunctious nieces, a little better as well.
She was wary of Sally at first; she's not keen to trust people who are billed heroes because they did the things that clearly signal you're a hero. But having met her, she gets it. Sally dove to help someone in danger in her duchy and just generally seems to have a good head on her shoulders, so she can't complain too much. She wishes Sally was a little more friendly and open, though; she thinks they could learn from each other.
"She's a rich noble weirdo that still thinks she's an 'every-uso' or something. Honey, you can blow a hole in half the world and eat better than some people will in their whole lives. But she's a nice and smart rich weirdo. She's a go-getter, I'll give her that. She's down to earth in the right ways I think. You know what? I think she makes a good duke. It's funny! Stick it to those stuck up noble hacks. She's a leader, unlike half of those Fabrem fat-sos."
"I'd have expected worse from the god of order than I know now. She was a good mother to Sammy, she values her other aspects the way she values order... she's respectable. In a lot of the same way my own parents are really."
"Sherri is an intelligent girl. I do not approve of everything about her, but she has worked very hard to be in harmony with herself. And her pursuit of knowledge and personal discipline is something that pleases me. I am glad my children are such good friends with her."
"I wish she'd be friends with me. Petronia likes her a lot, and she reminds me of Addi... but it's not turning out that way."
"Sherri is TERRIFYING. Do you realize how many of her futures end with dozens or more deaths??? I know some day we'll be close, but I just cannot be near her without wanting to shake remembering my brother and mother and sister and family dying because of this woman loosing her's. Sammy and Calvin can be friends with her all they want but I just cannot relax until she has passed on. And especially cannot stop doing all I can to bring about her best future. For the good of my family and so many more."
"At first I felt like she was a little bit condescending. I still feel like that once in a while honestly. But she's a really smart person, so she can at least back up it with something. She's great fun to talk and really hard to beat when it comes to board games. ...And people keep saying we're similar. I don't know if they have a point or not anymore."
"Sherri reminds me of myself as a mortal. And maybe even after that... She reminds me of Fairfelt too. Perhaps I'm a little selfish in seeking her friendship. She is not either of those people, and I have definitely been unfair to her. But she is also a remarkable woman. She is not perfect, but I enjoy her company. It is... Nice to feel comfortable around someone. ......It is nice to have a friend again."
"He's so weird, or the way he treats me is at least. We had an incredible fight the first time we met, and now he's basically doting on me. I wouldn't know what he wants if he hadn't basically said it outright. I wish Rembrandt would pay him less lip service, calling him "Lord Calvin" and such. He's actually one of the most normal people I've ever met, even compared to people like Oracle. He wants to protect his family, do his job, and enjoy himself. I understand all of that."
"Sherri is... A whole mixed bag. She is a threat, for sure - or, a potential one - but I'm glad she and Sammy are friends. Sammy needs more of those. She's... Legitimately terrified me too. When she messed with my Intuition? That was one of the most personally disturbing and horrifying moments of my life. And that's saying something. But I don't need to admit that to her."
"Sherri's a legitimate threat to me and my family, and that's scary. But it just gives me another reason to push myself even harder and not let myself get rusty. She kicked me back into that. And her being a threat, and friends with Sammy and Socks? ... Well that's interesting. It made me want to know more about her. And now, after having watched and interacted with her for so long I can't lie that I care about her. Just like my sisters, or Auntie Dia's angels, or Claris. I want her to see me as someone she can rely on. I'd like to be able to be a big brother to her. She's an honorary little sister. My real sisters and family are my priority by spades of course, but if she needs me for whatever reason? You better believe I'll be there."
Enjoys that her children seem to enjoy Sherri's company and is grateful to when Sherri has babysat her children, knowing just how rambunctious they can be.
"He's way more similar to me than I would have ever expected. We both got into teaching for the same reasons, with no credentials, and we had to claw our way up; he had a tutor at least, but as it turns out Merlin isn't really... a reliable name in academia or anything like that. He's got a nice family, and even if working for me isn't *really* retiring, I try to keep his class sizes and work schedule down so he can spend time with them. Maybe most importantly, he's a skilled mage. I love being able to spend time with peers."
"Ms. Sherri is a capable woman with great talent, She shows great patience and understanding to both magic and teaching. I do hope one day she will be recognized throughout Lassia for her accomplishments."
"It's very hard to understand her priorities, but she's skilled at magic at least? Weirdest curse I've ever seen. I don't see many, I guess, but I've still seen enough to know hers is doing something unconventional."
Toll Smart Runic Twink.
Sherri wasn't around for most of Addhema's previous partners, so she lacks the data to assay one of her main worries: that something won't work out and Addhema will be alone again. But, from what she's seen, Daisy is actually a pretty reliable person and pretty effective at communication, so she expects them to be happy together. She's a little frustrated that there's almost no overlap in their personal interests, though, and so she tries to work with her when coordinating her own duchy and Addhema's.
Sherri wants Petunia to have a better life growing up than she did, and despite ostensibly only being a foster parent to him (and saying so), she realizes deep down that he's probably not going anywhere and she's going to raise him into an adult. She just hopes she can do it right.
Petunia will never admit how grateful he truly is for Sherri taking him in and being as patient with him as she is. Secretly Petunia feels he doesn't deserve Sherri's kindness.
