About

Valefar used to be a simple working man who lived in a tiny village deep within the countryside. He spent most of his days tending to fields and helping out wherever some extra muscle was needed. Around the time Valefar turned 27, his village was pillaged by a local monarch, and Valefar along with any of the other militia men, where captured as prisoners of war. Valefar, and the other villagers, who seldom left the village were completely unaware of the political reasons this pillaging took place, but the devastation completely ruined the village. Valefar fought violentely, to protect him home, where his wife, Lena, and kid, Christopher were hiding.; however, despite his efforts, he got to see the moment the fireball engulfed his home in flames.

Already angry with the assailents, seeing the devestation of his home and family within, Valefar snapped momentarily letting forth years and years of unbridled rage on the enemy soldiers, though despite his best efforts he was still subdued. When Valefar awoke, he and several other of the men he knew where bound in a dungeon, awoken to the yells of a man informing them of their new life as prisoners of war. He and the other men were brutally put to work doing manual labor day in and day out. Many of the younger men broke, several tried to escape and were beaten brutually, and many of these men outright died. Valefar persisted, through all the pain, and the torture. His heart blackened with contempt for his captors. His rage is what kept him burning, the rage of seeing his fellow man die, the rage of the burning of his home, and most importantly the stripping of his freedom.

After 5 years of the torture, Valefar had enough, he could not stand another minute of these conditions, watching his friends die and working so hard it hurt him. One day a high ranking official came to tour the facility he worked at, and upon seeing him, and recognizing his face as someone present at the battle that day, Valefar was overcome with a mighty rage and managed to charge and beat the man to death with a pickaxe.

Valefar was immediatly arrested and sent to a courthouse to be judged for his crimes and most certainly found guilty. His punishment would be execution. They had him chained to a wall during his testimony while the jury jeered and detested him. Valefar was asked for a motive to his murder to which he simply yelled, "Freedom! I wanted Freedom!" His yell shook the courtroom and silenced the jury. His rage awoke something or someone and the whole room suddenly erupted in fire. The jury yelling in agony as they tried to put out the flames and escape. And from the screams and fire emerged, Asmodeus.

Asmodeus offered Valefar a deal, he would free him from the chains that literally bound him to the wall within the burning courthouse, and would make sure that it would seem that he died in this fire as well so that no one would ever come after him again, granting him freedom. In return, Valefar was to do exactly as Asmodeus commanded, being his champion. Amodeus assured Valefar it would only be a few little things here and there and to think of him more as a... leader. Valefar accepted and bound himself to Asmodeus. As promised Valefar was removed from the chains, and in its place a chared false corpse was left. Asmodeus smiled and offered to shake Valefars hand to make it offical. For his final trick, Asmodeus granted Valefar the blood of his progeny. Valefar, took on a new name as part of his pact, becoming Valefar and ditching his old name, Donovan.

The two left the burning courthouse and spoke at a safer location, where Asmodeus imparted onto Valefar the details of their pact, regarding the tenants and anathema, and the basic gear nessisary of a man up to the task. He assigned Valefar his first and most simple task; to await further instruction. Asmodeus smiled and told Valefar it was a pleasure to meet him, and to inspire more good will between the too, Valefar was free to do as he pleased for awhile, in order to ease himself into living among the people once more. Asmodeus then vanished in a flame leaving Valefar alone within the forest. Eventually Valefar stumbled upon a town, where the service of adventureres was requested for payment. Knowing Valefar was a strong man, and that he needed the money, he decided to fulful the request.
