There was once a lonely fisherman who loved spending his days ice fishing. One day, his fishing trip was cut short when a spring melt caused the ice his shanty was on to crack, and it went under. His life flashed before his eyes when Xilladenanessfeali, his creator, appeared before him from the depths and transformed him into an Esk. He doesn't remember much about his past life as a human, but he carries bitter loneliness with him as he aimlessly wanders the arctic. As time went on, he couldn't help but wonder why he still walked the earth and his morale dropped lower and lower by the day. His familiar, Willow the snow bunting, presented herself to him on a particularly cold and sleepless night. He's not really sure where she came from, but her presence felt so warm and familiar that it was like she was a part of him. She's been his trusted friend and exploring companion ever since. He treasures her company and really enjoys her song. She can often be found perching in his nature feature, flying by his side and tipping him off to cool places to explore. She likes to make nests in his tail when they rest. Design notes: - His familiar, Willow, is a female snow bunting. (P. nivalis) - Willow has 2 small and very fresh arctic willow leaves on her head. Sometimes one of the leaves is notched, but it seems to heal fairly quickly. - Her nature feature doesn't completely die off in the winter, the leaves do turn brown/yellow though. - Aspen is an arctic Esk and has a summer and winter form - During the coldest winter months, his fur becomes thicker - His nature feature dies off for the winter. It releases fluffy seeds in the fall and is very barren in the dead of winter. - His growth elemental is polar grass that grows where he steps. He can somewhat control how much of it grows and sometimes it's not present at all. |
