About

Personality

Nehmir is, at heart, one big ball of fluff. Cheerful and kind, he will always help someone in need to the best of his ability, even putting himself in danger to do so. Very creative and inquisitive, he loves learning about whatever random things might cross his path, especially in relation to humans. He's highly energetic and has a near perfect pacifist outlook to life, at least for a long while now, and due to this there are many who see him as naive or childish. While it may be the case at some times, he certainly does understand the negative things of the world, choosing to try his best to help others rather then get sad over it.

Abilities

Nehmir is a Paragon, the highest class of angels, and thus has large wings; he can control air and wind at supremely high velocity with a single beat, flying around at speeds too fast to keep track of. His main ability however is phasing, making him able to turn certain parts of himself incorporeal at will, with perfect control down to even the molecular level. Along with this, he has photokinesis and energy manipulation, able to turn things 'invisible' by scattering or bending the light around them, or materialise energy beams. Finally, he has quite a powerful healing ability which he can use to both regenerate and heal others.

Backstory

Nehmir, the middle child of three brothers, was born long after the Plague, during a somewhat peaceful time. With a great family, he grew stronger, brighter, and more curious towards the worlds around him over the years. Upon reaching adulthood he had already reached Paragon status, and focused heavily on controlling his abilities as best as he was able, alongside the other two siblings. He was quite proud of his healing especially, having always wanted to help others.

Millions of years passed before he first learnt that there were creatures in the new realm. His curiosity immediately had him wanting to learn more, but the information did not come with a high note. The Devil Abraxas, in his rage and long lasting grief, had blamed these 'humans' for the Plague and wanted to eradicate them, whereas the Elder Solaris had refused to step out of the way, defending them. The battle that ensued resulted in the deaths of many angels and demons alike, but eventually came to a close once the two were brought to reason after realising how much dimensional instability they were creating with their power. Nehmir had been saddened at the rift between the angels and demons for at this point, the relationship between the two had become strained.

Bad turned to worse after an incident resulted in a full scale war breaking out. Nehmir, alongside his Paragon brethren, fought first and foremost as the battles began. They endured much together, including the loss of their parents during one of the many demon attacks, which brought great sorrow and anger to them all. The fighting stretched on for years, the peace all but shattered in a time of pain and rapid growth, Nehmir did everything he could to grasp more power and control over himself just to stay alive, and to try and protect those around him, feeling like he had already failed.

During a siege into the Underworld to attempt wiping out some of the Upper level demons, a team consisting of Nehmir, his brothers, and a few other Paragons were caught in an ambush far more dangerous than they could have ever anticipated. His ability to phase saved him from being killed, however the vast outnumbering demons had struck down the rest of them, leaving him unable to save his brothers from the massacre. Broken and in despair, he had no choice but to retreat with guilt and loss.

From that day onwards, he took part of every siege the angels staged, burning with hatred and rage, living for nothing else but the slaughter of any demon he came across, killing endless amounts over the further years the war stretched over. He trained, pushed harder than he could safely manage, never feeling calm or at rest. He very quickly became one of the strongest combatants on the angel's side, which would suddenly mean nothing as the war abruptly came to an end, once again forced due to dimensional instability. This left him with nothing but a dark numbness, life had no choice but to return to normal as each side recovered from their losses.

It took a few years before his bitter hatred began to fade, replaced with suppressed pain and mourning as he began to feel the aftereffects of guilt, understanding just how much blood was on his hands, regardless of the reason. As it became too much to bear, he slowly began to think of his brothers again, their brightness and hopes for his future; his parents, who only wanted him to be happy, who thought the previous battle between angels and demons had been stupid. With them in mind, he chose to let go of his anger and hate, and vowed never to let it rise again, alongside a steadfast decision to never kill another being again.

Over time, he returned to his bright and cheerful self, if anything he seemed to have overcompensated for the past, choosing to be trusting and optimistic no matter what, for better or for worse. His curiosity resurfaced, and eventually he had time to start learning about humans, or whatever else crossed his mind. This somewhat overbearing personality ended up with many shying away from him, and he struggled to maintain friendships.

One day, while on the cusp of finishing writing a book on eye abilities, he came across a human who just so happened to have the exact one he had needed to finish a chapter. Thus, without hesitation he eagerly went about asking her for her eyeballs, for what better way was there to ask?

Relations

Lenz

From simple acquaintanceship to so much more, he would gladly do anything for Lenz, feeling joy and peace when he is around her. He worries about her wellbeing a lot, even feeling somewhat possessive at times, although he'd never say so. She's the most important person to him, so witty, funny, and beautiful; he's very much smitten with her, and anything that attempts to hurt her shall be shortly eviscerated in an orderly fashion.

Solaris

Having fought alongside Solaris in the war, he has a strong admiration for the Elder, particularly how much he helped in the time after. As one of the few who listens to and trusts him, Nehmir happily follows his guidance on anything.

Barbas

At first, he really disliked Barbas, finding the demon to be too violent and cruel to get along with. Now, he still doesn't like Barbas, but doesn't dislike him either, finding fun in the somewhat rivarly that sparked between them, even if at many times it results in the flaming fiend attempting to kill him.

Lilith

During his attempts to win Lenz’s affection, he’d viewed Lilith as a rival and could get somewhat annoyed at her trying to spend time with her. After a while however that had faded, and he got to see her as a friend of the group.
