Kaldair

he/it x 47 x mimic

Appearance:

By nature of being a mimic, Kaldair's true form is difficult to describe, nor does he particularly care to show it off for long enough to have its likeness captured. Instead, he prefers to maintain the form of his Chosen. He takes the shape of a dark skinned humanoid, his white hair long and unkempt, despite his best efforts. A pair of curling horns sprout from either side of his head, and he decorates them with silver rings and strings of sparkling gems. His body is often obscured by a heavy cloak, but on those rare occasions he is seen without it he is revealed to be thin and somewhat underfed. His face remains a mystery, obscured by a thick black veil that he refuses to remove while in the company of others.

Personality:

Kaldair is, above all else, dedicated to the principles of his religion. He values loyalty to his family, and care for himself and all others, and decries cruelty and greed. He is modest, for vanity does not befit one who borrows their face from another, and takes the time to appreciate each new day that he is granted, greeting them all with the prayers he learned as a child. Because he is a mimic, his manners around those not of his species tends to be polite but stilted, as he still isn't entirely sure how to interact with others, and he is prone to proselytizing if left unchecked. His devotion can be overwhelming to those unused to his behavior, despite his best intentions. He is also extremely precise, and, even worse, stubborn, much to the dismay of any who have found themselves splitting rations or attempting to haggle with him, and once he has settled on the most "fair" option available he will not waver.

Abilities:

Aside from his inborn ability to shift forms at will, Kaldair has a small amount of magical ability, mostly relating to the enchantment of objects. His powers are not great by any means, but he often sells clothes and beaded jewelry he has made with minor spells cast over them. Cloaks that turn away the rain just a bit better than average, bracelets that help ease the wearer's pains ever so slightly. He cannot (and would not) curse an object, nor imbue it with any world changing power, but he can make day to day life slightly easier or more comfortable. The only drawback is that his energy is limited. In a single month he may only be able to craft two or three trinkets before being forced to rest for a while.
