Kidnapped into a life of pirating at a young age, Morgan now commands his own ship. Less interested in pillaging, he enjoys stealing from other pirates, using quick wit and expert stealth to sneak aboard enemy ships to steal their most valuable treasure. 

Backstory

Berlioz and Morgan meet at the docks one gloomy fall evening when Morgan sneakily tries to pick the coin from his pocket. Lio, being very perceptive, catches him in the act and instead of reporting him, gives him the pouch of coins, refusing to admit to himself that he is a little bit smitten by the handsome and roguish pirate. Morgan runs off, but the next time he returns to docks he tracks down Lio and treats him to dinner on the coin he'd given him months before. Feeling insecure, Morgan feels he could never be enough for a smart and wealthy banker, and is afraid to pursue him, though very happily surprised when Lio sends him a letter inviting him to the park that evening for a walk. 

The two share a kiss before Morgan sets sail, and he invites Lio to come along, but Lio cannot, knowing his purpose and passion is running the bank. Each time Morgan returns to the port-side city, he finds Lio, and the two maintain their relationship despite the thousands of miles between them. Morgan sends letters when he can, using a stack of stationary and a pen gifted to him by his love.

Every few months, Morgan visits Lio, and this catches the eye of a band of dangerous pirates that Morgan has frequently robbed. Noticing his affinity for Lio, they kidnap him and hold him for ransom aboard their ship. Morgan receives their ransom letter, threatening to throw Berlioz overboard if he does not return what is rightfully theirs, knowing the gravity of the situation when he sees Lio's hand print at the bottom of the page.

Having long sold the artifacts that he'd stolen, Morgan is racked with guilt at having dragged Lio into his life of crime and begins a frantic hunt to find them in order to save his love.
