If you looked up flamboyant in the dictionary, the definition would simply say “Halden Davenport.” Seriously, this is a man who loves his glitter. It’s found in all his pretty clothes, all over his home, and even in his dog’s fur. It comes out in his words too - he’s an absolute drama queen and he won’t ever let you forget it. He just loves his sparkles.
Halden is also, unfortunately, a kind of manipulative person. He’s great at lying, buttering people up, and getting people to do what he wants. Flattery works wonders, and Halden is such a pretty face. It’s hard to look away from him. Obviously, the more strong-willed people know how to get away from him. However, Halden is a wily sort of person and knows how to get out of a situation.
When it comes to affection, Halden is definitely a super affectionate dude. He loves PDA, so his husband gets smothered in it all the time. Of course, his affection spreads towards his friends too. Halden often comes off as unintentionally flirty around his friends because he loves his friends so much. Luckily, most of them are very smart and understand that he’s married.
Although Halden loves his friends, he doesn’t exactly make friends well. He’s picky with who he wants to be vulnerable with. Extremely picky. Plus, he doesn’t actually trust people that easily. It takes a ton to earn his trust, and even then it’s not always forthcoming. Halden is content with a small circle of people he can completely trust.
No one’s ever quite sure why Halden does things, though he’s completely sure. He’s mostly just wants a life of money and ease and he’s not afraid to get his hands kind of dirty. You know, even if he gets other people to do the real dirty work for him. Ideally, he’ll retire and live out a life of ease. He doesn’t like to work after all, it’s just sometimes a necessity.

- From his gemstone, Halden can summon a horn which allows him to perform magic (specifics in ref).
- Halden has a very lanky form and is almost all leg.
- Halden prefers wearing more feminine clothing, especially dresses. He especially likes to wear warmer colors.
Trivia
- Halden is a poker dealer in the Silver Dice. He’s had this job for a while and is really good at it, especially the part where he gets to flatter everyone who’s playing.
- Halden picked up doing card-based magic as a hobby.
- Halden probably has one of the worst sleep schedules ever. Seriously, the amount of times he’s fallen asleep in the middle of the day only to be up almost all night is ridiculous.
- Halden and Pharoah own a big, fluffy dog named Jack that they love dearly.
History
Halden had a pretty solid middle class upbringing. Enough money for the essentials and a little bit extra, but not much else. It was fine, his parents were fine, but he was never quite satisfied with his childhood.
As he grew up, Halden was kind of a heartbreaker. He’d get boys to fall in love with him then ditch them as soon as things got serious. Honestly, it was mostly for the fun of it. It was just a power rush for a regular middle-class teenager.
When Gene opened up her casino, Halden snatched up a job almost immediately. He fit in really well with much of the staff there and Gene took an immediate liking to him. After all, he managed to cheat people out of lots of money and make Gene even richer. Plus, his sense of humor matched hers really well.
Halden met Pharaoh at a work party. He’d never really interacted with the accountants much, aside to pass on the money at the end of the night. So, when given the chance to flirt, Halden took it. As it turned out, Pharaoh was actually rather interested in Halden, so they decided to give romance a shot.
It was a slow relationship. Halden actually genuinely liked Pharaoh, so he was forced to make an effort to not be a manipulative bastard. Although there were some rough bits in the beginning (they broke up multiple times), they were eventually able to figure it out. Nowadays they’re a pretty chill couple.
Halden may not be rich and famous, but that’s okay. He’s got a job where he can be flashy as all get out and manipulate people out of their money. It suits him well.

Despite the rocky start to their relationship, Halden and Pharaoh have a really chill relationship. It doesn’t interfere with their work at all - they work in entirely different departments and have mastered the art of professionalism. However, they’re super affectionate at home and try to spend as much time as possible with each other. They’re actually really cute.
Halden looks up to Gene. How could he not? She’s got power, money, and influence at her fingertips. This is a woman who knows what she wants and how to get it. He wants to be like her. Gene’s taken a liking to Halden. He brings in a lot of money, plus he’s rather fun to be around during the few times she condescends to spend time with her underlings. Gene finds that he is an excellent employee and would like to keep him around for as long as she can.
Rhapsody has proven herself over and over again to be someone whom Halden can trust. She’s often cleaned up after his messes, plus she’s got so much glitter. Although she can get exasperated with him at times, Halden always proves himself to be a good friend in the end. He’s helped her with bills a lot. Plus, they have a great time partying together.
Halden doesn’t usually associate with the strippers out of professional respect - he’s very touchy feely and he knows that these people usually prefer not to be touched. However, Alexis seems to be looking up to him as a mentor. She’s very young, and clearly hasn’t had the best life. He’s going to try to be a good mentor, but he’s not that great.
Why does Lumiere keep coming back? Halden knows that they cheat, why do they keep getting in trouble? If Lumiere was just addicted to gambling, that would be fine. Halden can exploit the hell out of that. However, Lumiere keeps trying to get their money back by cheating. And Gene won’t do anything about it! Apparently, she thinks they’re funny. What a nightmare.
