Aerona is a thoughtful and easily distracted woman who has dedicated her life to studying sleep and the connection to the world of dreams with reality. She conducts sleep studies and analyzes brain functions in order to piece together the mysteries of our own minds. She is also capable of diagnosing certain sleep disorders, but prefers to analyze rather than perform as a medical doctor. 

She is very wise and gentle, and her words are slow and calculated. She's very purposeful in everything she does and doesn't like to get caught up in drama or any sort of fuss. She prefers to avoid anything disruptive and keeps generally to herself and her own studies above all else. She doesn't tend to ask questions if it isn't directly in her field, and generally prefers to keep her head down in a crowd.

She is always on the search for anything that makes her think, as she enjoys solving difficult conundrums in her mind, with a cup of hot chocolate and a blanket on the couch and hours to just sit and ponder existential questions.

She isn't antisocial, but prefers quiet time to think, and often has to recharge after interacting with people for extended periods of time. 

Aerona has been fascinated with the world of dreams since she was a child, mainly due to her father falling into a coma when she was a youngling. While he did come out of it and recovered, the things her family said to her in that time drilled into her mind. They told her that her father was dreaming, and he expressed as much when he woke. These things stuck with her and fascinated her to the point of further pursuing it in her life and career. She excelled at school, and eventually pushed into studying sleep in college, earning a PHD after many years of study.

She was picked up with a high salary at a company that requested her work to help make medications to assist people in comforting dreams and sleep aides, to which she gladly accepted.

After inventing a revolutionary sleeping agent and translation device that could read dreams, the company revealed its hand to be that of greed, demanding further pushes into the field at the expense of the users wellbeing for money purposes.

Aerona was highly against this, and took flight from the country and the company's stringent contract, establishing a small lab very far away to continue her studies in safety, now under a private, more benign company that agreed to keep her location and identity a secret.
