As a forest keeper, Ronam keeps watch over the forests surrounding the city. He's in contact with all fauna and flora in the area and uses this connection to track down any who wish to damage the lands that he was assigned.
Ronam's domain covers a large patch of land, much too large for him to protect alone. There used to be far more forest keepers, but after they were slaughtered by invading demons many years ago, Ronam's the only one left in the area. Forest keepers became spread too thin and Ronam fears he cannot carry out his job properly because of it.
As a forest keeper, his powers include a low-level communication with any living being, manipulation of living matter, and synthesis of plant matter and flesh.

Forest keepers are generally very tall humanoids with elongated features and Ronam is no exception to that. He stands 270cm or 9 feet tall and weighs 350kg or 770lbs. His body is thin and long, showing a very low amount of fat and little but well-defined muscle mass. He has small shoulders, flat hips, a narrow waistline, and thin legs and upper arms. He has a short, untipped tail.
He has unguligrade legs that end in hooves. Though he has no fur on the rest of his body, the hooves end in a fluffy patch of hair. His arms are much too long for his body, reaching down to his knees, and especially his lower arms are out of proportion. His lower arms also show a considerable amount of muscle mass compared to the rest of his body, giving him rather thick elbows and large hands.
In terms of colours, he has a dark red skintone with paler gradients around his lower arms, legs, and tail. On his shoulders and face, he has darker markings, forming a generally swirly pattern. On his wrists, ankles, and the tip of his tail he has dark brown stripes.
His face follows suit, also elongated and skinny. Ronam's face is human in shape and displays a rather thick nose, a narrow jawline, and rather pronounced cheekbones. His eyes have black sclera, amber irises, and slit pupils that adjust to the light and his mood. He lacks eyebrows. He has pointed ears that droop. His skull sprouts four dark red horns above his ears, two on each side, that curve upwards. Around his face, he has dark red markings similar to his body, running over his nose and avoiding his eye sockets to end across his cheekbones. He doesn't have a strand of hair on his skull.
Compared to other nature species, the Forest Keeper is very tall.
Although the city is not Ronam's responsibility, all life is connected and it's still on his radar. He chooses not to interfere with the city and ignores the noise that comes from there day in day out. If someone wanted to try to destroy the forest, close to the city would be the safest bet.
Because of this, Ronam and the city's officials have an agreement that the city has to protect nature within a radius of several kilometers around the city. It's a mutually beneficial agreement because in exchange for protecting an area Ronam cannot, Ronam wards off all intruders and signs of industrialisation that threaten everyone's way of life.
Forest keepers have always been around and they don't reproduce, so after the large-scale massacre many years ago, the remaining forest keepers had no choice but to spread themselves thinner over the land. It's part of the reason why industry has managed to take over.
When city officials first talked about breaking the Freedom from Demons pact to allow Andreas into the world, Ronam was furious. His friends were slaughtered by these creatures, and now they want to summon one back to Haust? It took very long to negotiate Andreas' stay on Haust but they eventually came to an agreement that he would be watched closely and couldn't leave the boundaries of the city. Ronam is still anxious about the whole situation and stays close to the city because of it, expecting for the worst to happen soon.
Ronam isn't afraid to use force to ward off invaders. Clawing into flesh, tearing bodies and machines apart with vines, and burying people alive are all viable strategies when the situation calls for it.
His dedication to nature isn't blind idealism. Forest keepers have no issue with hunting, forestry, and urbanisation necessary for sapient societies to survive. What he does fight is overexploitation, excessive destruction of forests and terrain, and actions that cause the extinction or displacement of native fauna and peoples.
If the city needs more space for livestock and agriculture, they need to contact Ronam to request a piece of his land. This way, Ronam can control the city's expansion and he can help search for land that is best suited for agricultural activities. Most of the city's food comes from fields on the border of the city, so new land is often added adjacent to these fields.
