Having operated for almost 17 years in a commerical airline fleet, Clive was soon retired from his airline after they had bought newer jets once his model's production ceased. He was then bought and put into service by the Canadian Blood Service and UNDP for the purpose of transporting blood components and other medical supplies to crisis areas in a short amount of time, as his range allows. Nicknamed the "plasma plane", Clive mainly operates within communities and countries afflicted with war, illness, terrorism, and other instances in which blood transfusions need to be performed at short notice.
