Kaleya used to be a winged snow leopard shifter, but after a mishap with her first shift from human to snow leopard, she found that she couldn't go back to human form. Now she goes back and forth between feral snow leopard and anthro snow leopard. Either way, it seems to freak people out. Kaleya doesn't mind her forms, though; it's pretty nice to be able to fly everywhere! She lives up in the mountains near a rural village, though it's not too far from the nearest shopping center.
There are some downsides to being an anthropomorphic winged snow leopard, though. Finding clothes fit for wings is a bit of a challenge; Kaleya usually has to have them custom-made. She does not want to run around in just her fur! Another bit is food. Kaleya doesn't mind eating raw meat, but when in anthro form she prefers to have it cooked. However, she has had a couple of encounters with people when she's just made a kill in feral form. It doesn't leave a very good impression...
Kaleya's father, Shilo, used to be a snow leopard shifter. But when he met Citress, Kaleya's mother, he decided to leave his old life behind to start a family with her. Kaleya often feels pressure to be perfect for her father, to assure him that he made the right decision. It's not an easy burden to bear, and it does have its side effects. However, despite her hardships, Kaleya is still an optimistic spirit in the midst of a dark world.
Kaleya runs into Kataigida sometimes. They're both world travelers, so they sometimes end up meeting in the most unlikely of places, like the top of Mount Everest. While their relationship can be a bit distant, they still enjoy catching up with one another every once in a while.
Kaleya met Akoni off the coast of Hawaii while taking a vacation to the Pacific. He challenged her to a race to the reef while she was sunbathing on the beach. She laughed and told him that she didn't swim, to which Akoni instantly fired back that she couldn't swim. "No," Kaleya had replied, "I just don't want to."
