Profile

Gregory of the Progeny, Gen 2 of the Offsprings

Maintainer of Tradition | he/him

Steeped in the knowledge and rituals of the past, Gregory is like a kindly monk or druid, quiet, peaceful and sage. He encourages all kinds of engagement with history, whether that be through research, sight-seeing, archaeology, re-enactment, or otherwise. He also encourages respect for the past, humility, and reverence. Gregory lives a life divorced from modern times. He is even more secluded than his mother, Johannah, and spends most of his time tending an impressive collection of bonsai. Gregory is the god of Tradition, and while he knows that many traditions have been used throughout history to hurt and marginalize people, he tries to focus his godly abilities on the traditions that help us understand the world that we left behind, not the ones that carry injustice to the present. Really, because of his humble and selfless nature, there's no other god to trust with such a loaded task.

Gregory is the patron god of historians and other students of the past. He helps those in his favor unearth and preserve history. He is also the patron god of anyone religious, aiding them through keeping the tenets of their faith and finding a religious community. Gregory is aware of his duty to make sure even the unsavory parts of our human history are remembered. He's respectful and dutiful, and very obsequious when he makes a mistake - because even gods can err.

Like his mother, Johannah, Gregory has mastery of the Natural element. He focuses most of his magical attention on plants, and most of the things he enjoys doing in his past time are plant related. Another of his godly abilities is knowledge of all languages, even ancient ones. He can impart knowledge of these languages onto others for short periods of time.

His counterpart and cousin is Jane Fox.
