Ash's family was wealthy, and paid for him to attend college in pursuit of a performing arts degree (he wanted to be an actor.) However, his parents were less than supportive of their son when he came out and he dropped out of school to roam the country in search of somewhere to belong. He's done odd jobs ever sense, many of them less than savory.
