History

Kaida was born to a fairly modest family in a small town within the country of Temari, and was the oldest of only two children. When Kaida was around 11 years of age, her parents suddenly vanished, leaving no indication of why they may have left or where they had gone. The task of raising Elora, only 5 years of age at this time, fell solely to Kaida. She throw everything she had into taking care of the younger child. Any small jobs that were available, she took, trying to raise enough money to feed, clothe, and house them both.

They managed to scrape by for a few months, but unfortunately, Elora fell ill, and passed away despite Kaida's best efforts to save her. Stricken with grief, and furious at the hand fate had dealt her, she left her hometown. There was nothing left for her their but bittersweet memories of a life she no longer led.

Years went by, and Kaida struggled. She had no plan for the future, and nothing left but what little she could carry on her back. She went from town to town in a search for work, for home, for friends. She would stay for a time, but ultimately move on to something else with a dissatisfaction that never seemed to abate. During her wandering she happened upon a traveling group of merchants, and having nothing else to do, decided to come along. It was while traveling with them that she discovered her talents in combat, battling monsters and fending off bandits. With every encounter, she grew stronger. It was said that despite her young and allegedly cute appearance, she could easily take down multiple armed men within seconds. She tried to learn all she could while with them, but ultimately decided that while their trade wasn’t for her, perhaps her services as a battle-hardened warrior would be.

Eventually she would find work as a royal guard for the dwarven princess Danae Rossil of Calandra, a task she took extremely seriously. She had finally found her calling. It was not without it’s difficulties, some completely unforeseen, but finally she found something she was good at and proud of doing. She felt she was closer to discovering her purpose in the world, and could begin to really live again.

She is a Sealed of the Golden God Jeronis.

She was once a follower of the Golden God Arafina before the restoration of multiple gods within the world, when balance was restored.

She is currently employed by the Nocturne Ravens.

She enjoys writing, both fictional short stories or just her thoughts in her journal. It's one of the only non-destructive releases she has for stress.

Due to her marraige to Tarvenru Kalinisar, Kaida gained the titles of Marchioness of Amberdale, and Chatelaine of Silverhawke Keep.

Tarvenru Kalinisar - Husband

She thinks that he's very kind and courteous, and extremely respectful of her boundries. Additionally, she is impressed by his combat capabilities. She initially wasn't certain that she wanted to fully trust him despite her interest in him, but eventually grew to want to allow that, and allow herself to care fully about him. He is everything she ever could have wanted in a partner.

Waylin Harper - Traveling Companion

He was among the first to be converted to following the Golden God Jeronis thanks to her efforts, and ever since then he's been traveling with her around Sefiral. She was rather off-put by this at first, but over the last 5 years, she's grown to enjoy his company even to the point of inviting him to join her on her journey across the Blood Sea into the unknown. She admires him for the values he holds, and his willingness to get his hands dirty to bring about change and peace.

Kiara - Cousin

A cousin related to her from her mother's side of the family, Kaida did not realize just how happy she would be to finally have someone to call family again until Kiara sought her out after hearing of Kaida's part in restoring the gods. She views Kiara as a younger sister and would do anything to keep her protected and safe from harm.

Caridan Hearthfire - Nocturne Ravens Associate

She hates him. No, she absolutely loathes him completely and utterly. The princess she had sworn to protect was put in danger and she blames him completely for it. On top of that, he is one of the few people to best her in combat in many years. She'll never forgive him for the first and resents him for the latter, even if she knows in the back of her mind that she might be overreacting a little.

She looks up to him and admires his resolve and strength. She is very proud to call him her captain and will gladly follow him to the ends of the earth, quite literally.

She's disgusted by his presence on the trip aboard The Absolution across the Blood Sea, and is utterly insulted that he considers her 'neutered' compaired to the tales told of her deads. If she had it her way, she would gladly toss him overboard.

He was overbearing from the beginning, but when she discovered his apparent undying and everlasting love of her, Kaida realized he was completely unbearable. Although a little sad (not too sad, however) at his violent and sudden passing, she knew it was inevitable given his aggressive behavior at the expense of anyone he deemed a threat to their 'relationship'. She isn't losing sleep over it.
