Albion Shinewell

"I'm far more than the role that was assigned to me."

Native of Tír na nÓg, embodiment of curiosity, yearning for purpose.

Albion is considered a runaway by their own kind. They were once a researcher, tasked by the Winter Court to find answers to whatever they desired, and Albion was happy to oblige. However, Albion's thirst for knowledge of forbidden places lead them through a portal that took them far away from their home and into new surroundings that were completely foreign and alien. Danger is something they quickly became familiar with in this strange place, later learned to be called "Hadreon".

With only their Eidolon companion Kierben at their side, Albion wandered in search of new knowledge which they felt had never been gleaned from their kind, as well as a desire to be accepted by those they would soon encounter. They would soon find that not everything was as they would have initially assumed. Secrets were uncovered, adventures were had, and they've discovered that this experience has changed them in ways they still don't fully understand.

After living in Hadreon for a time and discovering brand new things, places, and people, they've also have found that aren't as alone anymore. There are many who may be considered enemies, even those they would never have thought would be called as such. More importantly, they also now have those who they consider new companions, allies... perhaps they could even be called friends.

INTRODUCTION

Albion of the Winter Folk, Summoner and Researcher

"This world is a very interesting place, is it not?"

OVERVIEW

Albion is a former loyalist to the Sidhe Courts, but has begrudgingly defected now that they've learned far more than they were ever meant to.

They have a thirst for knowledge that will never be quenched, which also leads them into dangerous situations more often than not. Being a creature of pure curiosity it's impossible for them to resist this internal pull whenever there's the slightest inkling of interest in something.

For a time, they traveled with a group that called themselves the Crystal Crew. Together they saved Hadreon from destroying itself due to the incorrect renewal of the cycles of old. Now they travel with their partner Brïs and are currently seeking one who can help them understand what is happening to them both physically as well as emotionally. They are not the same Sidhe as the one who stumbled through the waygate all those years ago. They may not even be completely Sidhe at all anymore.

TRIVIA

  • Something they strive for is to become something more than a Sidhe, to have a body. They are also incredibly torn, however, as while they believe this means they would lose their 'immortality', they want to have the best of both. This is something they want to somehow achieve and they'll do whatever they can to do so, no matter how impossible a task it may be.
  • Emotions are something they don't understand. Unlike their sister race the Summer Sidhe who are boisterous and manic, Winter Sidhe are much more reserved and analytical. This is not to say they cannot feel, but they have a much harder time giving a name to what they feel, and it's far more subdued.
  • The local flora and fauna of Hadreon are extremely fascinating to them, and it is not uncommon to find them pressing flowers within their journal or scribbling quick studies of various wildlife that catches their eye.
  • They are extremely intelligent, although to others that isn't always apparent. They are very naive to the workings of Hadreon but are very inquisitive, and constantly asking about things that may seem to be obvious to others which feeds into this misconception.
  • They try to avoid physical contact with others as much as possible. They will only touch, or allow being touched by someone they trust entirely.
  • Sidhe do not eat, but do have the ability to "taste" by touching food with intention. Although not often, Albion does like to "eat" foods and drinks in this way.

PROFILE

PERSONALITY

CURIOUS - INDEPENDENT - OBSERVANT

As it is the aspect that makes up their entire purpose, Albion has a need to know everything. The world is so big and full of possibilities and things to discover. Anything that catches their eye is something they need to know more about, and they're always on the watch for something new or questions they want answers to.

Although they're constantly asking questions, when they have no need to learn from another they tend to keep to themself. Asking for help is something they avoid, prefering to do things alone. It's a lot easier and less stressful to work alone, and if something goes wrong, they know it's only on themself to blame so they can learn and fix things easier.

SELFISH - STUBBORN - NAIVE

Once they've got their mind set on something, it's hard to make them budge. The only way to get them to change their mind is with factual proof showing how they're incorrect. This goes for things that they want as well; anything they want, they will do all they can to have or keep it even if it comes to a fight. Anything that they view is rightfully theirs, whether it be information or something physical, they're incredibly possessive of it.

As smart as Albion may be, they have a very limited world view when it comes to matters outside of their home world, and they've come to find that even that they don't know as much as they had thought. Their naivety can lead them to saying or doing things that are rude or morally wrong. They try to be as informed as they can instead of remaining in ignorance, but they don't always understand why things are the way they are, especially in matters of dealing with other people and morals. When they can't find answers to the why of things, it's very frustrating to them.

STORY

PAST

Reassignment

Albion wasn’t always a researcher in this life, but they were always known for being the curious one among their kind. They were initially tasked by the Court to be on patrol by the Tradeways to keep them safe, as their inherent curiosity led them to find threats before they became an issue. One such threat was the Will O’ Wisps that had begun emerging from Sheelin Lake, making their way slowly towards the Tradeways. It was when they were eliminating them that they discovered an old, abandoned lab. It’s distance from the city meant likely no one had been there in a very long time.

They wandered inside, and as they were searching found notes regarding the research of Sidhe souls, and what they really were. When they brought this information to a member of the Court by the name of Fergus, they were given a new task: find other forgotten labs, and gather as much leftover knowledge from them as they could.

They set off into the Winterlands, walking without any guidance into the vast, unexplored space. They found very few labs; only two more in about a hundred years of traveling, and the information found inside, while interesting, didn’t give enough for what Albion felt the Court would be satisfied with.

The Final Lab

After 20 years of finding nothing, as they were returning to Ulster’s Tower, a city that was still about a month away, they stumbled across one last lab. They went inside, and were surprised to find strange mannequins, part crystal and part wooden, and covered in runes. They got closer, examining them, reaching forward to touch them, but pulling back suddenly. Their form seemed to draw closer on its own the closer they got to the mannequin. Again, they reached, fully embracing it and manifesting fully into the mannequin. It felt as though it became a part of them, that is was completely natural. It almost felt easier in a strange way. Perhaps, they thought, this is close to what the Sidhe wanted from a body.

As they kept exploring the lab, they came across a small archway, just barely taller than how tall Albion stood. In the middle of the archway was a single point, a point that was so small you couldn’t hardly see it, possibly only visible at all because of the immense power emanating from in. Almost unconsciously they went towards it, hand reaching; they touched it. Instantly, they zipped, the room around seemed to pop, and disappear, and instead they were traveling through the stars, faster than could even comprehend. They too disappeared, and the next moment, another pop, and suddenly they found they were underneath a large, open, blue sky, no longer able to see the stars above, or the lab. Instead they saw two large stars that were hot against their form, and very strange to feel compared to the coolness of their home.

They looked behind them, and the point of magic had turned from a tiny speck into a large portal that glowed and shifted with purples and blues, filling up a much larger archway than the one in the lab, standing at what Albion would estimate to be around 120 feet high.

Entering Hadreon

Albion looked around, taking in their surroundings. This place looked how the Summerlands had been described to them by the few Summer Sidhe they had spoken to; there was grass all around, and strange plants they had never seen before.

Then, a voice. Deep, and older. They turned, expecting to find another Sidhe, but instead found an Ikaian, standing around 3 feet tall. He asked if Albion was the one who created the portal, and they replied that they did not create it but did came through. They continued to talk, both having some difficulty as they had to use magic to understand one another to begin with, but managing to communicate fairly well. The Ikaian told Albion that he was on a fishing trip, and was returning to his home that was about a day away. He explained things about the world – Hadreon, he said it was named – and the whole time, the Ikaian was so kind as he spoke. When Albion told him about their own home, the Ikaian man seemed genuinely astonished, and in regards to a story about crystalcaits he commented that he has a cat at home that sounded similar to the creatures they had described to him. He even offered to teach them how to fish, but as they were heading away from the pond, there was a large shadow that loomed above as a large airship approached.

The ship fired, and killed the Ikaian instantly. In a panic, Albion realized the portal was too far away to reach now, and they didn’t know where else to go. They then felt a presence, a power from the body of their friend. Through knowledge they didn’t know they had, Albion used that presence to create a creature that arose from the body: it was a being strange and familiar, and one Albion would name Kierben. It was a large salamander-like creature, similar to ones they had seen along the bank of the pond, except this is one who could fly them away to safety.

Kierben, surprised at what he was, but with a strong desire to help, flew the both of them away as fast as possible. They fired magical attacks of their own at the beings they saw on board the ship, Immortals they later learned that were called. Shots rang all around them as they flew to avoid them, although strangely, the ship stopped after a few minutes of giving chase and turned around toward the direction of the portal.

In Hiding

The two flew for hours, eventually ending up at a large forest. This was the perfect place to hide. They stayed within the trees for around 5 years before their curiosity slowly began to overcame their fear, and they ventured toward the edge, but still within the forest. There, they spotted a large field of flowers. It was another 3 years before they went to the edge of the field, just at the treeline. They could see some sort of settlement close by, as well as multiple beings walking around. Some of them were within the field of flowers, and Albion recognized them to be Ikaians, like their friend had been. They felt a weird feeling, however, as they also recognized the larger figured who the Ikaians were speaking to, were the same who killed their friend. They didn’t understand it, and ventured back into the forest. They didn’t want to go too close, but instead, they would watch, and learn what they could from a distance.

PRESENT

Capture and Escape

For around 92 years Albion stayed within the forest, but eventually it became too boring; they couldn't take doing nothing anymore, not when there was so much they knew they hadn't seen. There was so much more this world had to offer, they were certain of that. They wanted to know what else there was. However, the moment they left the forest, two soldiers found them and knocked them unconscious. When they awoke they found that they were on a ship, and they weren’t alone. There were others here who had been captured too, and they were all being taken to a place called Nibelhiem. There was another Sidhe named Alexander, a Dwarf named Dargus, and an Ikaian named Ghaemi.

All of a sudden there was a commotion heard above deck. There was a lurch, and then silence as they felt the ship begin to descend, fast. This was their chance to escape.

They helped the other captives get to the deck and all of them jumped. The others had scrolls of Featherfall or other means of making the descent to the ground safely, and Albion had Kierben. They knew they were not completely safe, however, as there was likely to be people investigating the crashed ship and an intent on recapturing them all. They ran, joined by the others, now officially accidental traveling companions.

An earthquake and an attack from Nibelhiem converged at the same time during their stay in a town, unfortunate timing for all involved, led by a strange figure with a void for a face who Albion soon figured out was a Sidhe, but something was wrong. Albion and their party escaped, some belongings lost but their lives intact. Large chasms opened all across the land, making travel difficult but not impossible.

Another Lab

While stopped for the night beside one of these chasms, a light deep inside the crack was seen, and in the morning they decided to investigate. Fortunately there seemed to be a tunnel that led where they desired to go. At the end of the tunnel, there was a large, crystalline cavern with strange markings carved above a closed door. Albion recognized it as Sylvan, albiet a more ancient version than was in common use by their people. The door was also identified to be locked with a phrase and impossible to open without the word needed. Unable to enter the party moved on.

Eventually they made it to the country of Ellara, and the capital of the same name. They requested an audience with Lord Regient Gentianna to inform her of the attack by Nibelhiem, as well as the crystal cavern they had found. Gentianna sent then back to the cavern to investigate and to report back with their findings.

After speaking with a Sidhe who worked in the library, they now had enough information to enter the cavern. Inside they found a lab, and many strange and hostile creatures roaming the halls that were quickly dispatched. They also found another Sidhe who had a void for a face similar to the one they had fought during the earthquake. Unlike the other they had met, this one seemed barely coherent but not yet hostile. The conversation unfortunately turned for the worst and the corrupted Sidhe attacked, although Albion refused to have any part in the battle. Something held them back but they didn't know what yet.

Once the corrupted Sidhe was dead, they resumed their investigation of the lab, finding among the rubble some tablets, and a crystal sword that was revealed to be sentient and named Cu Cathlainn. Albion translated some of the tablets and discovered to their confusion that their own name was written upon some of them as one of those who used to work within the labs. One also appeared to be written by the one Sidhe they had discovered down there, with that Sidhe writing that they hoped that Albion had escaped the lab safely. While Albion didn't understand this, they decided to make rubbings of the other tablets to take with them in a hope of finding answers.

Upon leaving the tunnel and entering the above world once again, something was wrong. Time didn't seem to match up with how long they knew for a fact that they had been in the lab. It seemed that only a few hours had passed with the sun still shining strong, when it should have been far into the night.

Remembering In Ellara

Another was added to their party once they returned to Ellara - a Munnin named Gwenivere. She had similar goals to them, and decided to follow for the time being. Gentianna, having not expected them back so soon, was currently not in and they were forced to wait.

There was thankfully a lot of things happening within the capital to occupy their time. They entered a tournament where they would fight both other contestants as well as dangerous monsters, and they secured a second place win, as well as a first place win in the last event. Odd jobs were also readily available. Albion wasn't too fond of any of this, but took part in some of it anyway at the insistance of their companions.

Much more interesting to Albion was the commotion in the city of one of the gods of Hadreon, Hlal, making an appearance and giving blessings to any who desired one. Although they didn't believe in the notions of a 'god', it still intrigued them enough to want to at least see what it was all about. Finally their turn to speak with her, she asked what it was they desired. Albion didn't want to hope in what they truly wanted, but opted for something that seemed more feasable: memories of their past lives. Albion immediately found that she was extremely capable of this feat, and all at once all 110,000 years of their lives came to them. It was painful, terrible, and confusing.

At the tavern they were staying Albion wrote all they could remember in a journal, the years they now knew of quickly fading from memory once again; it was simply too much for them to handle, and if not written down it was doubtful they would remember anything at all. They wrote of their assignments over their many lives, of details they wanted to remember, as well as ones they didn't. It was at this time that Albion discovered the identity of the Sidhe within the lab. It had been their partner Brïs, someone they had been together with for many of their lives in the beginning, but hadn't seen anytime after the incident that had trapped him inside the lab. It was also revealed that the Court they had revered had killed them countless times for daring to ask the wrong questions.

Saving Hadreon

With Gentianna now returned, she had another assignment for Albion and their party. She requested they travel to temples across Hadreon to stop what a previous adventuring party had accidently set into motion. If they didn't manage to stop things in time, Hadreon would surely destroy itself. They accepted and soon set off to find the temples and stop Hadreon's destruction.

There were many battles fought, some fights among those within the group rather than their enemies. Things were strained for a time, but still they stuck together. Another was added to their party, a Cait Sith by the name of Whiskers, who added some much needed levity to their group and helped to keep them together despite the disagreements that frequently occured in no small part by Albion.

The party discovered the impact the Sidhe had on the creation of the world, as well as the purpose of the temples that had started the earthquakes as well as other disasters. They found that the temples were once used to keep the world ever changing, ever in motion, but all four must be activated at once or else the chaos that was happening now would be the end result. With some luck, and help from Genasi that guarded the temple, they managed to start the cycle properly.

Hadreon was safe from self-destruction, but that was only one of the many problems that plagued the lands. There was potential of war steadily taking hold, the corrupted Sidhe to contend with, and powers far larger than any of them pulling invisible strings behind it all. As much as Albion hated it, there was more they needed to do. They couldn't return home, not with the knowledge they had now that they had regained their memories of all their former lives. Hadreon wasn't their home, but it was all they had, and they would defend it.

WORLD

Tír na nÓg

Tír na nÓg is a separate world from Hadreon, but is connected through Waygates called the Arches of Assevane. The people of Tír na nÓg are called Sidhe, and exist in two distinct varieties. They are ruled over by the Sidhe Courts. Every Sidhe who lives within Tír na nÓg has a specified purpose given from birth by the Court, which they are to carry out until they die, or until given another purpose by the Court once their initial purpose has concluded.

The world of Tír na nÓg exists in two distinct planes, same as the Sidhe. There are the Summer Lands, and the Winter Lands. Outside of the cities within these areas is referred to as the Wildlands which are where the Courts hold no power, and are generally considered more dangerous.

Hadreon

Around 200 years ago, the Immortal kingdoms had banded together to become Nibelhiem. As the most populous of the land and the shortest lived, they used the short time they had and advanced greatly in developing technology through vigorous research, with things such as explosives and airships. With their new powerful technology, they invaded the rest of the world. The other regions were not prepared with their far inferior technology, and as such the many other races were unable to stop Nibelhiem's charge and lost much in the conflict.

After 50 years of constant war, the rest of the races banded together against the Nibelhiem Empire and were able to take down the Immortals. The Demilitarized Zone was created in the aftermath, which eventually became the free kingdom of Ellara. At first, it was a base of operations in the war against Nibelhiem, but after around 100 years had passed this had been forgotten, and it instead became a city of adventurers.

Although Nibelhiem was thought to be in check, they have recently begun launching attacks once again, their technology more advanced than ever before as firearms were introduced to the world. What else may be in store for Hadreon has yet to be seen.

DETAILS

DEMEANOUR

In most situations, Albion has a very stoic expression. They carry themself with confidence and walk with purpose. When not being observed, one may notice a hint of sadness in their eyes, but it's quickly changed when they know they're being observed.

When stressed, they're prone to pacing. When they can't do that they instead fidget with their hands, or anything they may be holding at that moment. Their eyes dart around a lot, watchful.

When emotional, they are extremely volatile and tend to lash out. They're much more unsure of themself and this is expressed in their stance, holding their hands and arms close, or if able to they sit curled up and making themself as small as possible within the limitations of their tall frame.

HABITS

  • Fidgeting: They tend to pull at their sleeves. When stressed, this is worsened. They will also wring their hands when stressed.
  • Humming: When alone, they hum aimless tunes to themself. They'll stop immediately if they catch themself humming around others.
  • Writing: If something is on their mind, they'll write it down until satisfied and no longer hung up on their thoughts.
  • Repeating Words: When speaking in Common specifically, they have a tendancy to repeat back what was said to them. This helps give them time to think, as well as confirm they are understanding correctly.

HEALTH

  • POSTURE: Stands tall, confidently
  • SMOKES / DRUGS?: No
  • PHYSICAL ILLNESES / DISABILITIES: None
  • MENTAL ILLNESES / DISABILITIES: Prone to depression

  • FLOWER: Lillies
  • SPORT: None
  • ANIMAL: Cranes
  • HOLIDAY: None
  • SEASON: Winter
  • TIME OF DAY: Night
  • INSTRUMENT: Flute

HOBBIES

  • Studying magic: Whenever they have down time, they try to study scrolls they may have on hand. If there are no scrolls available, they work on their own spells and formulas and sigils to meticulously and carefully create the spell they desire.
  • Growing flowers: Gardening is one of the few things that give Albion what they believe to be joy. Cultivating flowers is something they don't have as much time for now, but once they settle down they intend to renew this hobby.
  • Reading: Albion loves reading any books they can get their hands on, especially when it comes to non-fictional books.
  • Playing music: This is something they've stopped doing as much, but they once dedicated some time to learning to play the flute. They're decently good at it, but are usually too self concious to play it unless it's a special occasion.
  • Sketching: They enjoy sketching plants and animals primarily. They do dabble with drawing people sometimes, although they don't enjoy that near as much.
  • Flower Pressing: When they find a flower they find especially pretty, they'll press it between the pages of one of their books to keep it.

GOALS

  • The Court: They want to discover what the Court has been hiding from them and the rest of the Sidhe, even if it means becoming an enemy of their Court for the rest of their current life, and any life that will come after.
  • Ancient Labs: There have already been a few labs they've discovered dotted across Hadreon. They intend to find more of them before anyone else can.
  • Staying Alive: Now that they know so much about their past lives as well as other knowledge their Court would never have allowed them to gain, Albion doesn't want that knowledge to be forgotten again with their death. Until they feel their work is completely finished, as well as safe from being lost, only then will they not fear death.
  • Emotions: This has grown to be something they struggle with immensely, and they're aware that a lack of control over their emotions could have dire consequences. Learning to identify them, as well as to control them more effectively, or at least learn how to cope with them, is something they're slowly trying to master.

DREAMS

  • Home: They do not feel that Tir na nÓg will welcome them home, but Hadreon does not feel like home yet either. They have nowhere. Someday they hope to discover a place they can truly call home again, whether it be their homeland, Hadreon, or something else entirely.
  • Body: They want to have a body, a true body, and they are not certain but do suspect how to gain one: discovering emotions.
  • Garden: Once they are not needing to be on the run constantly and can settle down for a long period of time, they want to have a garden filled with every flower and plant imaginable, ranging from those native to Hadreon, to those that thrive in Tír na nÓg.

SECRETS

  • Kierben: They believe that it's their fault that their current Eidolon, Kierben, was killed back when he was an Ikaian man. They feel deep remorse for this, worsened by the fact that they are unwilling to let his spirit go. They rarely speak of this to anyone.
  • True Name: They almost never reveal their true name to anyone unless they are absolutely trusted, and even then they aren't always willing to reveal it.

FEARS

  • Emotions: Experiencing emotions is something beyond Albion's current understanding, and that is uncomfortable and terrifying to them. It is all too much for them to handle and it all feels overwhelmingly bad.
  • Dying: This is something they are unused to being afraid of. All Sidhe know they are reborn when they die, but that comes at the cost of forgetting their current life. Because they remember all the lives they've lived up to this point, they don't want to lose that knowledge, especially since they know the Sidhe Courts is not to be trusted and that they will be punished.
  • Losing Brïs: Now that they have Brïs back, they will do everything they can to keep him from dying too.

CONVERSATION

  • WAY OF SPEAKING: Generally rather monotone
  • COMMON CONVERSATION STARTER(S): Anything regarding the Sidhe, or magic
  • SWEARS?: Very rarely in Common, surprisingly often in Sylvan
  • QUIRKS: Narrowing eyes, slipping in and out of Sylvan when overly excited

QUOTES

  • "I can't help wanting to investigate! It's literally impossible for me to resist that want."
  • "I'd much rather be left alone."
  • "Despite popular belief, I'm not so stupid as to get myself killed needlessly."
  • "Well... I suppose I'm a god then!"
  • "It is so strange that we do something so similar and yet your way is so different."

ABILITIES

STRENGTHS

  • Poison resistance: Due to their lack of a truly physical body, poison is much easier for them to process although it can still harm them.
  • Arcana: Given their many years of study and practice, Albion is proficient with anything having to do with the arcane. They're very knowledgable about many things regarding arcane magic, and are skilled with utilizing said magic.
  • Intelligence: They have an extremely good memory and can recall things for up to a month with near perfection. They're knowledgable about many things regarding the Sidhe, and are able to learn things that they don't know quicker than most.

WEAKNESSES

  • Slashing damage: Swords, daggers, and other weapons of the like can cut right through their spirit form and cause direct harm to their mannequin.
  • Iron: Albion has a weakness that comes from iron. Any weapon tipped with iron or steel damages their actual spirit more.
  • Emotions: Spending time in Hadreon has changed Albion on a fundemental level. They feel emotions more than any Winter Sidhe should which can cause them incredible distress as they don't know how to work through these new feelings.

ABILITIES

  • Darkvision: They're able to see through darkness up to a certain point.
  • Misty Step: They can step between planes for a brief moment to effectively 'teleport' a few feet away. This is very difficult however so they can only do this once per day.

POWERS

  • Eidolon: They have the capability to summon their Eidolon Kierben to assist them whenever they wish.
  • Magic: Through years of study, along with some natural affinity, they have the ability to use magic.

SKILLS

  • Weapons: They're proficient with light crossbows, daggers, darts, quarterstaffs, and slings.

  • Was captured by Nibelhiem when they eventually left the forest, escaped with a group of other detainees.
  • Put to work by Ellara, along with with their new party, to find ancient temples and put a stop to an apocalypse.
  • Successfully helped find the temples, properly reactivated the cycle system that rearranges the world, and saved Hadreon from tearing itself apart.

RELATIONSHIPS

24303983_oDv_11534436.png?1623874459

BRÏS (PARTNER)

They were partners in previous lives. Having essentially relived all those lives once they regained their memories, Albion wants to again be that close to Brïs again even if they don't fully understand their own feelings on the matter. Despite enjoying the company, they do get annoyed by the constant teasing, but they would do anything to protect him after what they inadvertently put him through.

fgdhf.png

KIERBEN (EIDOLON / BEST FRIEND)

He was the first person they met in Hadreon and Albion is very attached to him, quite literally. They have a lot of regrets for what they feel they did to him, even if Kierben holds no ill feelings on the matter. Albion feel they can trust him with anything and are one of the only people Albion considers themselves close to. They tell everything to him, no matter how small it may be.

Alex_Chibi_bg.png

ALEXANDER TEALEAF (FORMER PARTY MEMBER)

They know him to have been an assassin for a majority of his lives, and his original purpose in this life was to hunt them down. They don't always get along but they don't dislike him, and wish that he didn't dislike them as much as he does. They aren't exactly how to approach the subject though.

dargusicon.png

DARGUS MINEFELD (FORMER PARTY MEMBER)

He and Alexander were traveling together. He is someone Albion would like to know better, as his view of the world is intriguing to them and they enjoy listening to him explain it. They've had their squables, but overall they don't mind his company most of the time.

ghaemiicon.png

GHAEMI FLORIEREN (FORMER PARTY MEMBER)

Ghaemi and Albion are currently on rather cold terms, and they try their best to keep out of his way and to not catch his attention. They feel that they both spend more time arguing than anything, and that he will never fully accept them. They wish they could get along better but can't see that being a possibility.

17870055_5atN5meuJMLcR57.png

GWENIVERE LUCRETIUS ANNA-BELLA VON EPELSTEIN (FORMER PARTY MEMBER)

Her fascination with Sidhe culture was slightly off-putting when they first met, but also flattering in a strange way. They were happy to teach her what they knew however, including their language. Overall they enjoy her company and studying with her, and hope they can work together more.

whiskersicon.png

LUX "WHISKERS" (FORMER PARTY MEMBER)

He's very nice if a bit naive and too trusting, but he is interesting to travel with. They teach him magic in their spare time, and think he's interesting to be around. They want to know more about what exactly his story is.

CURRENT SHIP

Albion & Brïs

Partners

They've lived multiple lives together, but rather than Brïs showing interest first, Albion was the one who brought them together in this life for a change. There are many struggles and problems to work through, but ultimately they both are doing their best to work things out. Currently they're traveling together to seek answers to important questions and are taking this time to bond.

DYNAMIC

  • Albion is one who enjoys showing they care with pleasant conversation and acts of kindness rather than physical affection, the polar opposite of Brïs.
  • They tend to not be overly affectionate around others, although Brïs enjoys pushing Albion out of their comfort zone at times as he thinks it's amusing and cute much to their chagrin.
  • Conversation comes easy to them. There's always something to talk about, whether that be things from the past, their goals in the present, or what the future may hold.
  • Both have secrets they haven't told the other, with Brïs in particular he isn't ready to disclose, and Albion being surprisingly open to more than they usually would be.

HEIGHT DIFFERENCE

ALBION'S THOUGHTS & FEELINGS

  • Is certain that their feelings are those of caring, although they have a hard time pinning it down and putting it to words.
  • They worry constantly about his safety but in the end they do trust his judgement and abilities when they find themselves in danger.
  • Find his constant quips and jabs annoyingly endearing.
  • They secretly love when they hold hands even if their protests may suggest otherwise.
  • They feel as though they have to earn his love. They're aware that it was selfish of them to have pulled him into a relationship the way they did and hope they can make it up to him.

BRÏS' THOUGHTS & FEELINGS

  • Is very happy to be with them again, but is admittedly rather overwhelmed by everything due to having all of his memories back so suddenly.
  • Likes to make Albion flustered whenever possible.
  • He wants them to grow into the person he believes they can be.
  • While always happy to show affection, both platonic and romantic, he's extremely happy when they innitiate first.
  • Is somewhat resentful of the fact that he hadn't been informed of how painful getting his memories back would be, even if he understand's Albion's reasoning behind it. He has yet to voice this to them yet.

TRIVIA

  • The last life that Albion and Brïs had known each other was when they were working together in a lab deep within Hadreon. Due to Brïs being trapped there for approximately 80,000 years, it wasn't until Albion and their party rediscovered the lab and killed Brïs that he was able to be sent home and be reborn again.
  • Before Brïs' life in the lab, he had spent a few of his lives together with Albion, although they have not been his only romantic partner over the years.
  • Albion has almost never been the one to initiate the relationship, even if they were the first to form any interest.

ARTIST NOTES

  • I'm always happy to recieve fanart, no need to ask for permission.
  • Albion should never be drawn in NSFW situations, no exceptions.
  • Gore is a no-go as well, but only because they literally have no blood anyway. Only exception to this is crystal gore (overgrown with crystals).
  • Should rarely be shown touching another person as it's extremely uncomfortable for them.
  • Drawing their mannequin is completely optional.
  • They can be drawn either with a ponytail and bangs framing their face, or with their hair down and the bangs pinned in the back. Preference is with the former of the two, however.
  • If drawing them with their eidolon, Kierben, please use Kierben's updated design; any art of them together is currently outdated.

DESIGN NOTES

  • Tall and lithe, Albion sticks out amongst a crowd.
  • Expression is commonly almost stone-like, void of emotion, although sometimes it seems almost sad.
  • They have a slight glow, most visible when it's dark. The glow fades when they're resting.
  • Their skin is slightly translucent, and underneath their 'skin' is a mannequin made of wood and crystalline elements primarily around the joints.
  • They typically shouldn't be drawn as either too feminine or too masculine.
  • They keep their staff strapped to their back when not in use.
  • Their eyes have no pupils.
