The snow lion, sometimes also snowlion, is a celestial animal and the emblem of Tibet, representing the region’s snowy mountain ranges and glaciers. It symbolizes power and strength, fearlessness and joy, the direction east and the element earth. Ruìshī range over mountains and are commonly depicted as white with a turquoise mane. Snow lions are sometimes depicted through and alongside statues similar to other guardian lions.
