Basics
Owen (but you can just call him Ryder, ok?) is a top tier solider, and ranks high within the kingdoms military. In his youth he actually worked under the church, as part of their secret assassin group. As he got older though it was apparent just from his personality, and the way he was shaping up physically, that he would be better suited for the front lines. Presently he's in charge of training the children in their elite solider program, something he's rather good with, seeing how he's a father himself.
Ryder comes off as a cocky and loud man, he tends to wear a rather smug smile on his face most of the time. He's good at what he does, and he knows this. He's a social butterfly within the military, and will chat up just about anyone that'll give him an ear. Despite his friendly attitude, he can be a bit selective with his inner circle. His love for family though, is probably his weakest point, Ryder having always been a family man at heart.
His skin is naturally tanned, with facial hair that he regularly trims, and his eyes tend to look a bit tired . He's an incredibly large man, both in height and mass. Years of work in the military has really built his body into what it is now. He also has two horns growing out his head, giving him an almost devil like appearance. Horns being a common trait of those born with Sanctus Halisa blood. It's noted in TL3, Ryder files down his horns, traveling outside the kingdom more often,

PERSONAL SKILL
Ryder has been a fighter his whole life, from an assassin to a solider he's done it all, truly a jack of all trades. He's very comfortable fighting with his lance, but even if you take that from him, he'll have no problem going old fashion with a pair of fists. Over all he's incredibly well rounded, and a scary opponent to face against. Don't worry though, he'll be sure the fight will be over before you even know it~

Kinsley & Ryder
Kinsley and Ryder have produced a horrifyingly powerful ability in the hands of super soldiers. They have gained the ability to read minds. It is a skill that can be turned off and on at will, and anybody within a one mile radius of them is in the target zone. This skill means they can hear every single person's thoughts in that one mile radius- or a single person's thoughts. Each man can read one person's thoughts at a time, and they must be looking at their target to read their mind. The target does not need to be looking at them. However, if another person gets between Kinsley or Ryder and the target they're mind reading, the connection is broken.
About
In Ryders youth his father was one of the priests that worked in the church of Sanctus Halisa, and signed Ryder up for their assassin program. Ryder did well in it, and was what his teachers called a 'natural born killer'. As he grew with age though, it was apparent that he would do even better in the front lines, and thus was entered into the military as a solider. It was here he would meet Kinsley Abbot, the two becoming good friends. Eventually Ryder married a young Maotia woman, and the two of them had a son together. Overall, life was pretty good for Ryder.
Good things don't seem to last for someone like Ryder though, ending up losing his wife to sickness when their son was 6 years old. Now a widower and single parent, Ryder did his best to juggle both being a solider and a father. So that he could be with his son more often, Ryder was then moved into a teaching position, training young children in a special program in the military who were essentially bred for battle. Ryder had no problem with this, happy to be there for his son more, and over all enjoying his new job of teaching children. It's here that he would get attached to one child in specific, Arlen Zalani. The two of them building a father-son like dynamic.
A few months before the story starts, Arlen goes missing after the usual scout mission. Eventually word comes out that Arlen has been spotted in the town of Yoria, Ryder heading out as soon as he learns of this.
NOTABLE MOMENTS IN TIMELINE 1 & 2
Ryder is one of the people required to make a sacrifice. His heart is torn, knowing his own son, or Arlen would be the best fit for the requirements. He eventually settles on choosing Arlen. Stabbing the boy through the chest, completing his side of the sacrifice.
NOTABLE MOMENTS IN TIMELINE 3
Things play out much differently for Ryder in this timeline, the most notable change is that Arlen is kidnapped in his youth, along side the prince and king. He sets out often many times a year, in search of any hints as to where they all could have gone. He travels with the merchant Pascal Ibsen, taking along his young son on his travels as well.
Relationships
Petra Devlyn

Ryder is instantly captivated by the beautiful Maotia. He meets Petra on his travels, and being the kind of man he is, does his best to woe her right away. Much to his surprise though, Petra is an incredibly important person, the current leader of one of the top ranking guilds in the country, The Red Feather Syndicate. Learning this only makes him feel even more admiration for the woman. As it turns out, Ryder has a lot of info that Petra is very interested in. He struggles a bit for his feelings of loyalty to his kingdom, but also feels in his heart helping Petra is truly the right thing to do.
Arlen Zalani [ son figure ]
Ryder is utterly charmed by Arlen, getting to see shades of the boy that he knows are perhaps closer to his true self. He hates to admit it, but he definitely gave Arlen special treatment within the group of children. His favorite activity was to eat oranges with Arlen when they took breaks, finding the faces Arlen made eating the sour fruit to be hilarious. All the time spent with Arlen was important to Ryder, which made choosing him as a sacrifice all the harder. He might not realize it, but having killed Arlen in multiple timelines is slowly wearing on him subconsciously.
Kinsley Abbot [ close friend ]
The person he considers his closest friend in Sanctus Halisa. The two are quite the opposites, if Kinsley was water, then Ryder is definitely the fire! Despite their vastly different personalities, they get along well. Ryder being able to drag Kinsley out of his shell just a bit. While Kinsley is able to keep Ryder in check, making sure he doesn't get too full of himself. The two have the type of friendship, where they just have to look at the others face, and know exactly what they're thinking. When they both have days off together, it's not unusual to see Ryder dragging Kinsley out to a bar.
