Personality: Samuel is many things but the main thing he is not is a hurtful person. He is a sweet soul that cares deeply for most every person he meets, right as he meets them, so long as they have done nothing to cause him to distrust them. He's the type of person whose in love with any art form, mostly however in music, art, and cooking. Those are his specialties. Taking great pride in his ability to play the piano or his ability to cook about any meal - most the time. But over all he is a really shy personality, he doesn't like conflict and caves in on himself when he's approached by a large group. He also is scared, but of the oddest things, loud noises, being alone, yet things like abandoned towns or spiders, even seeing gore won't phase him. To some extent he might be fascinated and want to know more. He has a love for old things and a even greater love for history. Let's not forget about his love for his family, he's very family oriented and is slightly sad that he is unable to produce himself. But this child was also heavily abused while growing up, his father was a drunk and hated him for well...being a boy, and so he was hit around a lot while growing up. However he doesn't view it as a terrible part of his past, least not in the common sense, he believes it was important because it made him who he is today, even if said person is a little broken. (Ps. He's a hopeless romantic as well, yet is terrible when handling complements and flirts. He either shoots them down with modesty for flushes and floofs up.) |
| Bio: Samuel is the eldest of quadruplets, meaning he was born first. Himself, Samson, Salem and Sam are the kids. However Salem and Sam ended up being born after 12:01PM so their birthdays are separate from Samuel and Samson who share the Earth holiday of Halloween as their birthdays. When born it even one of his kind are tested to see their fertility, after all reproducing is key to keeping their race alive. It was found however that Samuel would be unable to reproduce. When one is unable to do such they are either killed to retain a pure bloodline for a family, or marked as a Brood and sent to do menial jobs that others would not wish to do. Samuel's father of course wanted him gone, but his mother, Athena, was a soft one and couldn't let her first born go. While growing up Samuel's father constantly pressured him to just be a Brood, to simply take up a job at the factories, to move away. But Samuel didn't want any of this, he wanted to be someone. He didn't know who exactly but someone! And he watched his siblings grow without limits or pressure from their father, being able to chose what gender they are, and who they want to become. Luckily Athena was an amazing mother who pushed Samuel to be whoever he wished. She let her son beher son, and that was the most amazing thing that he could have ever asked for. The father however didn't take kindly to this, he would hit his wife and yell at her, with time she became to fragile with the emotional burden that she passed in her sleep. When this happened the brother Samson fled and was never seen again, the siblings all assume he's dead. After that the father took his wraith out on any of them, Samuel couldn't take that, so he instead tried to keep all the abuse to protect his siblings. Three years later their father died. They all took over the family general store, way out near the far edges of the know space. But as of today Samuel mainly runs this "old west" style store all by himself, living in quite peace as his last two siblings go exploring the stars, sending letters regularly full of all their love. He still however is waiting for the day to which he becomes something, but adventures don't just come walking through doors now do they? |
| Species Info | They come in all shapes and sizes but there are running similarities with them. Their kind one being closely related to bird had wings at some point in time, yet through many generations have lost their wings yet still have their hollow bones and feathers around the neck and collar bone area. Their feathers are normally a shade darker then their skin on the dorsal side while the ventral side is always the corresponding color to their skin color. Their eyes match this color of the ventral side of the feathers. They have four fingers upon each hand, and two toes, slit pupils, mandibles, and an over all angular body. Four arms, thick fore arms, thick thighs, and small waists. Making a "triangle" shape. They also all have differing white markings, however family's tend to carry similar markings. |

| Species Culture | Settlers main goal is to become a vast branching network, or in other words, to settle. Their kind have always been known as nomads that leave their home planet (or birth home) and to go settle on another planet. So because of this never ending need to expand they also have a high want to keep the populations rising. This is why when one is found to be unable to bare children (by either baring or helping produce) they are normally killed off. Now they don't shame their woman, for there are no woman, however they do mark the infertile as "women" just to make it easy for them. At least this is how it's seen to humans. They would be marked as a sub-species known as Broods, which in simple terms are told to stay in their birth homes and tend to work. Be it building homes, manning stores, or taking care of children that the parents left behind as they move to new planets. This is why a human at first glance has an idea that they are labeled "women", that and the fact that more often then not Broods seem to be more docile, they are hardly adventurous and seem brainwashed in the old ways of staying put in their birth home. Genders are assigned simply by wants, or by what one reproduces best as. Every year Settlers go through an intense mating season, it only lasts for three days but it drives many to find mates as soon as they can. If they are unable to then they turn to other ways, or species to help them blow off steam. However there has been stories of younger Settlers who don't wish to do anything like those options, so it is said that they'll lock themselves up until the season has passed. Broods are effected by this as well, but instead of the need to mate they get a need to nest. They get very emotional and often times will take in anything that resembles a child, or seems helpless. Not all Broods are effected this way, at worst for some it's just mood swings, while for others it's the almost crippling need for a family to raise. Sometimes during these times family's will come together again to help a Brood through that needing time if they have any attachment to said Brood. Settlers with mates with often settle down in an area till the children are born. Normally having two or more child at a time. While they wait out the two year pregnancy they will often times set up a permanent home where the parents intend to die at if at an old enough age, if young they have been known to leave the offspring with near by Broods. It is expected that when the children reach the age of 17 that they leave their birth home and go travel around. However not all family's hold to this but it's preferred. |

| Relationship Statues: Samuel has a boyfriend named Rick, he's a handsome adventuring human that has little to no regard for his health. Rick however is a very caring and sappy man, he just doesn't like to show it publicly because it'd ruin his "macho-man" persona that he has perfected over the years. He even hates when Samuel points out his soft tender moments when every they are together. Rick however has a hard time being in a relationship, the "L" word is forbidden to say and while that breaks Samuel's heart but he doesn't dwell on it to much. Rick also has a fear of being a father because his own family left him, luckily he has an amazing adoptive mom named Grace whose someone straight out of an old silent film. Anyways he has a huge heart and a soft spot for this weird bird. Rick's very protective and will always yell at Samuel if he ever tries to save him because that's Rick's job. |
| What is he doing now? : Right now Samuel is off on adventures with his boyfriend. Staying on the ship as it's doctor since Rick won't let him put himself in danger. He also helps cooks and cleans for the whole ship which has three other "crew" members on board. The small star, a literal living star which takes the form of a little human boy, named fondly "Space" is the closest thing Samuel will ever get to a child. He will sing sweet songs to calm the rambunctious child down and takes the best care of him. He's also adopted a pet that resembles an Earth's weasel but has many small black eyes and eight legs, the front left and back two of which had been bitten off by another animal. Samuel, with the help of Craig -another crew member that Rick nick named as Fact, made prosthetic for the small creature. He's named the snow white pet "Gears". |
