- She's a rootin tootin cowboy! Maren's not afraid to get dirty despite her hyper-femme appearance and personality! Even though sheās shy in front of other people, when itās just her and the animals she is quite rambunctious.
- She can wear any sort of clothes as long as it gives off western/country vibes :) she wears a lot of light fabrics and leather as it gets very hot in the Wild West. Her aesthetic tends to be a bit more cottagecore than flat out cowboy due to her reserved personality.
- As with all my characters, please do not draw NSFW art of her (shes a minor !!!!!!!!)
Maren is maybe the quietest cowboy you'll ever meet in your life.
She's just a kid finding her way in the world, with her horse, Jenny, and her springcalf (fakƩmon) named Stinky. She keeps to herself a lot and spends every single day outside- she gets too claustraphobic if she's inside for even just an hour. It seems like whenever she cannot see the sky, the clouds, sun, stars, she is restless and panicky. Though she is quiet and quite shy, she has made a family for herself & is fiercly loyal to her friends.
She's a foodie, if you can call someone who eats every meal on the go a foodie. She makes sure her friends are well fed with homemade cheeses, fruit, bread, and herbs. She spends most of her time riding her horse and discovering the Wild West. This pokƩmon region is nowhere near as busy as any other, but that's perfectly fine by her.
Ā Physical AbilitiesĀ
PokĆ©mon TrainerMaren is a pretty new trainer,but she's learning fast alongside her friends (also trainers). She is very active and loves to run even under the burning sun. Sheās strategic and calculated to a point, but if you catch her off guard sheāll start second guessing herself. Itās once she finally starts trusting her gut that she really begins to be successful in fighting.
Her pokƩmon, Springcalf, is a water type who can cause rainstorms and even typhoons. He represents oasis in the desert, and because of him, Maren does not have to worry about running out of water. He does fairly well in battle but is nowhere near as aggressive as most other PokƩmon, as he has a very calm and laid back personality just like his trainer.
You might be wondering... how did a seemingly shy teenage girl end up a cowboy in the middle of the Wild West?
Maren used to work alongside her parents, who were cow ranchers. She worked hard alongside them, but as an only child she was very lonely, and spent hours among the cattle. Thatās where she first met Stinky and her love of PokĆ©mon grew from there. When a two cowboy PokĆ©mon trainers arrived, broken and bruised from a recent battle, on their front porch, Marenās family readily took them in.
The trainers were around Marenās age, and as she worked to nurse them back to health she asked questions about their life. It seemed dangerous being a PokĆ©mon trainer, but it also seemed immensely fulfilling. She watched them improve in health and how they interacted, laughing at inside jokes and sharing their emotions with one another. She had never had friends like that before, and it stung.
Her parents took notice of the way Maren longed to have friends like that. When the two were ready to leave, they insisted she leave with them. Embarrassed, Maren declined. But as they started leaving, Maren raced to her horse and followed behind. Theyāve been a team ever since.
- She was homeschooled her whole life, with the wide open countryside as her school. She understands plants and animals and PokĆ©mon, but itās people she has a hard time with.
- She sings often to Jenny and Stinky, but never in front of other people if she can help it.
- She canāt build a fire to save her life! And in the desert, where it gets so dark and cold at night, it might as well be an important part of survival.
