• FAMILY;;—
  • Ren Malcalester (mother); Rowan loves Ren! She’s his mother - he appreciates her a lot and cares about her intensely. He’s really, really attached to her, and tries his damndest to tone down his lying when talking to her. Ren’s words are law, in Rowan’s mind.
  • Pine Malcalester (father); Rowan loves Pine! He’s his dad - he appreciates him, and really really looks up to him. Rowan would like nothing more than to make Pine proud, and do good in his eyes. Will do literally anything Pine asks of him.
  • Willow Malcalester (sibling); Willow is the whole reason that he got to join this family. Rowan loves them with all of his heart, even when sometimes they have their disagreements. Willow has some of the same issues that Rowan has, so he tries to tone back his picking when he can.
  • Aspen Malcalester (sister); Aspen! His big sister, who he cares about a whole lot! He thinks she’s crazy smart, way smarter than him, and treats every word that she says as law (just like he does with their parents, honestly.) He really looks up to her!
  • Alistair Monroe (caretaker); If you ask Rowan, he will curse Alistair to hell and back. This is mostly for show, though: Alistair helped take care of Rowan as a child, and taught him pretty much as much as his parents did, just because Rowan sort of followed them around like a duckling when he was a child.
• FRIENDS;;—
  • Lyre Nishida (best friend); Rowan is physically incapable of being genuine so, while he'd never admit it verbally, it's pretty clear to see that he and Lyre are best friends. Rowan trusts him essentially unconditionally, can understand how Lyre works with minimal confusion, and can match him beat for beat in any kind of conversation. Lyre is one of the only people outside of Rowan’s immediate family that he’s absolutely, 100% comfortable around, absolutely no question. (and if he's in love with him, no he isn't). Rowan will never admit it out loud, by Lyre really is his most important person.
  • Flynn Nishida (childhood friend); Highlighter hair. Lyre’s brother. Honestly, Rowan is fond of him, but their relationship dynamic is one that chills him out a little bit. Flynn is fun to tease and bicker with, and their relationship is built primarily on just giving each other hell. Rowan appreciates it a lot, honestly, especially because he and FLynn can basically have full conversations just with facial expressions.
  • Hayato Nakamura (friend); Once a rival for the Nishida's attention, Hayato is currently one of Rowan's walking wallets, since the two of them hanging out usually ends up with Hayato paying for one of Rowan's meals. He and Toya operate on surprisingly similar wavelengths and can tag-team bullshit at the drop of a hat. Rowan cares about him a lot.
  • Kanade Mochizuki (friend); Originally a "friend of a friend" situation, Rowan considers Kanade a friend and worries over her wellbeing sometimes. She's got a backbone in there somewhere, she's just got to use it. Rowan cares about her a bunch, though, and is usually there to poke and prod her as needed (at least, if Lyre and FLynn don't get to her first).
  • Kanon (friend!); Someone else Rowan is friendly with, and another friend made purely because he refused to leave them alone. Kanon.. confuses him sometimes, but the two of them get along well enough, with Rowan making a relatively sizable trek just to go and hang out with them. Kanon may be quiet and gloomy, but Rowan likes showing them things that he likes and things he finds beautiful... but hey, they'll get the hint eventually, right?
• MISC;;—
  • Emile Mercier (???); Someone Rowan met as a child, who often lends him a hand when he's done something particularly stupid. Rowan owes him quite a bit.
  • Rhea Andreas (buddy); They're the special interest buddy, basically! Rowan's cool with them.
  • ARIA (buddy); Rowan's also cool with her! She's weird as hell, but Rowan can match her pace pretty easily and he thinks she's charming.
  • Kitti Lantos (ex-girlfriend); Rowan still likes and cares about Kitti, and the two of them can hang out sometimes, but Rowan is incredibly aware that sometimes they just don't always get along and it's safer to just keep an eye on how she's feeling when he wants to spend time with her, lest he get an arrow in the gut.
  • Darrien (???); ...He'd rather not think about it.
  • Tsukiko Yamaguchi (???); "Leave me alone!"
