Ampersand

Ampersand is from Mandatory's furthest Prequel called Origins, which is all about the previous regime of Media before Technology took over. 

Mandatory's all about the war between Magic and Technology and Ampersand is basically single-pawedly the reason why Technology was successful because he was the only one who was willing to betray Queen Satisfaction (Magic Leader) by inviting her to negotiate with Control and Command (Technology Leaders) when everyone else refused to deliver the message, knowing it was a trap. He did this in exchange for his bloodline having a permanent pardon from the crime of magic (later straight-up becoming Mage Hunters, killers of their own kind) and therefore he and his bloodline all the way to the CURRENT generation (The Radio Star, Frequency, Studio, etc.) are all Nobility and highly honored because of his involvement. He's the tie between Technology (&) Magic and has a paw in both worlds. Hated by the Tech for his magic use, hated by the Mages for his betrayal; his life sure was interesting to say the least after the Magic Overthrow, but he treasured getting anything he wanted from the new regime and founded the Median Council, a group of advisors in charge of delivering the messages, advising, and negotiating with the current rulership as needed and all around there to make the King's life easier (and have absolute control, if we're being real here.)

This is overall some story spoilers (just mostly extra trivia) but I love rambling about him and just the way he just cushioned himself into having the best place in Media
