Profile

When fully grown her tail splits into three large branches that grow into one big tree.

Native to the planet Riddick, Jadite birds can be found scurrying between crevices in rocks, they are an extremely subtle creature with barely any calls. They travel in small, random, mixed gendered flocks and forage off of insects ranging from ants to small rat sized creatures.

They are reserved birds, preferring to sunbath and nap when the coast is clear and calm with crepuscular habits.

Their best known call is a very short, low, trill of Oo-ing sounds.

Jadite birds come in a wide variety of cousin species. Extremely rare birds with coveted mixed genetics cause poaching issues when they are discovered. The health of a bird can be seen clearly through their living leaf appedenges.

Leaves do not seem to have nerve endings and can be affected by plant diseases causing an extra fever in the host.

Jadites preen as a form of social bonding and will pluck leaves with issues off of their fellow flock members. Chicks are hatched from green tinted eggs that are produced with a sticky coating that latches to the ground and other eggs. Disturbed nests are easily killed.

Riddick has a bonsai species of a short rough desert tree. While the native plant seems to have a very short foliage season, it remains a mystery why the jadites seem to bloom until sickness or death. Since the planet has had a flora and fauna die off so fast, new species of birds may be seen.

While sexual dymophism cannot be accurately tracked due to their elusive nature, females of the species tend to show off brighter colors then the males.
